Therefore, these two arguments are contradictory. The statement "all dharmas are empty" means that the dispute arising from it also does not exist. They think that without valid cognition, what is to be proven cannot be established. If emptiness is established based on conventional valid cognition, then why is it not necessarily determined from experience that it is not emptiness? Regarding this, there is no other fault to be mentioned besides conventionality itself. Establishing it conventionally is what is desired, so how can it be established that everything is emptiness? If it is said that even consciousness is not existent, wasn't that said from the beginning? Then how can one abandon it and closely arrange Madhyamaka itself? "All is emptiness and like a net," etc. has been spoken. The meaning of "What is all emptiness like?" is that all permanent dharmas are emptiness. As the Regent of Dharma said, "The unreal, the totally imagined, exists; in it, both do not exist; emptiness also exists in it." The "unreal, the totally imagined" is, as it is said, "mind and mental events, the three realms." Regarding this, it is said that the two, the unreal graspable and the grasper, are both totally imagined. Therefore, this relies on speaking of such emptiness. Thus, after establishing the view of Acharya Śāntarakṣita, it is sealed with various non-dualities. Because the two extremes of imputation and defamation are abandoned in reality, it will be realized that the nature of consciousness itself is Madhyamaka. As the Protector himself said, "Not empty, not non-empty, therefore everything is said; because of existence, because of non-existence, there is existence; that is the Middle Way." Therefore, since these two systems are inseparable in reality, revealing one also reveals the second. Regarding this, there is also no contradiction with experience, because the nature of clarity is not obstructed. However, even if there is no contradiction, what needs to be established for such emptiness? To this, he said, what kind of valid cognition is there? The meaning is that it is knowledge itself and the nature of clarity, etc. Regarding this, in the context of refuting the previous life, the first two views

To establish a thesis and subsequently state it in order to refute the opponent is called "if." The word "etc." in "parents' bodies, etc." refers to the appearance of food, etc. "The great source of the body" refers to the body that is to be produced. "Otherwise" means that what is said here is that it comes from another world. Because it is on the side of refutation, it is like transforming the invisible nature. To this, "if because coming and going are not seen." Because the refutation is about to be explained, in order to create doubt. Explaining the rationality of the previous life is called "that is not true." It is not produced only from the parents' bodies. Breathing, etc., is unreasonable if it does not depend on its own kind. Why is it unreasonable like that? Because it comes from the difference in nature that has the characteristics of movement, etc., so it is for that reason. If it comes from the difference in nature caused by the dharma of the difference between movement itself and desire, etc., it does not depend on its own kind, that is, it is unreasonable not to depend on the previous acquisition, although it is said like that. If it is thought that the previous acquisition is the habit of the parents, then it is said that "movement, etc. is also." For that nature that is established as movement, etc., that is, the previous wisdom and senses, etc., are in accordance with that habit. Stating what is to be distinguished is: parents, etc. Stating the obstacle to the reversal is called "if it is not like that." Associating with non-holy people, or the dharma arising from seeing such scriptures, and having such dharma, etc., if it changes from reversing habits to not having dharma, etc., then it clarifies that the habits of habits, etc., are pre-existing. If it is not like that, then it will follow the nature of the parents. Because in some cases, seeing the nature of some things follow, it is certain that it has become accustomed in the same way. Whatever becomes the dharma of movement, cunning, and having dharma, etc., all of that is produced by previous habits, for example, the central place
