Is it the characteristic of the state? Is it the characteristic of the manifestation of taking the vase and so on? It is the characteristic of being as it is. The so-called "abandoning the following shape" means establishing the shape of following. The so-called "only things" means staying and entering, and symbolizing the nature of the fruit and so on. Abandoning the pervasive with special characteristics and relying on the commonality is the meaning of this. The explanation of the metaphor is from the blue substance. Why shouldn't fire be inferred from the blue substance? The answer is: there, it is inferring fire. Then, the so-called "only from smoke" is the view of others. The answer is: it has been said here. In what way will it become the fault of saying so? If the smoke itself is different, then it is not the peculiarity of blue. If smoke is not a peculiarity, then if you do not understand what is the blue that recognizes the peculiarity of smoke, you will ask "knowing the smoke". The answer is "fire". Therefore, just as fire cannot be inferred from the blue substance, so also the Lord cannot be inferred only from the fruit, because it is not pervaded by the person. Here, because a reasonable answer was not seen, in order to disturb in some way, others said "if". Not only the sprout, but also in this smoke, how can one understand the following, that is, existence, and the opposite, that is, non-existence, and their following? Because it is impossible to grasp the pervasive following and so on. This is his thought. Showing the way of following and opposing is "this smoke". The answer is "not grasping cause and effect as real". Summarizing by clarifying the meaning of Pramāṇavārttika is "therefore". It is also the peculiarity of the shape, it is also the metaphor of the vase and so on, and it is also a different thing. For this, the peculiarity of the seen thing, that is, the difference blessed by the person, should not be inferred from this, it is so related. "Seen" means the sound of self-establishment.

The meaning of འི་ is that because it comes with meaning, it is a term called "example." This can be understood as inferring from a sign that has the same sound but different meanings is not wisdom. Similarly, it is not appropriate to infer clairvoyance such as approaching acceptance, or unseen Ishvara, this must be certain. Where an example is visible, it is not inferred, then there is no need to mention the invisible, this is his thought. If one understands the universal through the particular, and then infers from the universal, then at that time, there would be the fault of inferring fire even from something white that is not smoke, to this statement, the answer is: However, and so on. To clarify the intention with direct perception is what "all" means. The answer is no, inference does not occur merely because there is no harm. If one cannot infer from the absence of harm, then from what does one infer? It is from seeing the connection, this is what was said in the first chapter. The connection is also only other than its own nature, arising from it, this does not exist for both the wise and the result, this is what was just analyzed. If it is not like that, then it is inferring from merely the absence of harm without relying on the connection. However, here there is only harm, so how would one infer the potter? The answer is, the anthill is made by the potter, there is no harm in inferring that the anthill is made by the potter. If, etc., this is someone else's view. If the maker is the potter, then at that time, quoting from him, it will become the object itself. What is the established conclusion? How is Ishvara also the object for the mountain, etc., which is the probandum that one wants to manifest? Because it is only not the object that one wants to
