Therefore, it is said, "Therefore," etc., meaning "although there is a self." "Direct perception," etc., is to dispel doubts. "In the past and future," etc., is the answer. If it is thought that it is realized through inference, then it is said, "Because there is no direct perception." Therefore, realizing the past and future is non-existent. It is said, "Even if admitted, this fault will occur," etc., meaning "if I." If I truly recognize myself with the nature of the past, then the previous experience will now appear. If it is not like that, my recognition in this way will be mistaken. The previous experience does not exist now either, therefore, how could I recognize it with the nature of the past? This is impossible. If it is thought why it is impossible, then it is said, "It is being experienced." "The connection itself is valid cognition," etc., meaning "from memory." "No," etc., is to refute the argument. Why? Because memory itself is valid cognition. It is not direct perception, because it is not taking the object as its immediate cause. It is also not inference, because it is not born from a permanent phenomenon. The meaning is that the habit of connection without beginning, which is determined by abiding in experience, is the co-emergent cause of the mind stream, therefore, doesn't it actually harm me? If it is said like this, then it is said, "If from memory." If one self is not real, then why not admit that the mind stream without self is a different entity? It should be admitted. Because one self is not established by valid cognition, therefore, it is not only saying no-self, but also comes from saying self. How do the past and future experiences and memories, etc., learn as one with the reversed habit, just like now? It is said like this. "Those," etc. If it is truly separate, then how does it make separate without difference? It is said, "Just one," etc. Like the continuum of what is seen, the continuum of what is seen also does so with the result of grasping as one.
