To be inseparable is to have a view of self. To be without desire is to have attachment to self and what belongs to self, relying on efforts made for the sake of abandoning and taking. To be called a "samsaric being" is to be non-liberated. If one views everything as the self, then for that which has no "mine," there should be no attachment or effort, right? Therefore, to dispel the doubt of "why the view of self does not liberate," there is the word "if." If there is no eater, what will happen? The answer is, "action." Merely existing apart from the nature of action is not the nature of self, like space. "Mine" is what will be explained. It is like seeing happiness and blue, and so on. "Everything" is to dispel doubt. "Not" is the answer. If one asks, "How is this certain?" the answer is, "Ignorance." Therefore, it is because there is no difference. Even if there is no action or enjoyment, there is still no self. If it is said that it is its nature, that is "other." This also refers to the nature of action and enjoyment. To dispel the doubt that mere experience is a valid measure for the existence of self, there is "that is through knowledge." If it is admitted that knowledge is other and the knowable is self, then everything that is to be grasped will become knowledge, because there is no difference. To answer this, there is "everything will become knowledge," therefore, this is a doubt that it will become ultimate truth. Even if what is to be grasped is considered knowledge, to dispel the doubt that it is not ultimate truth, there is "like dreams, etc." If there is no such thing as reality, then because there is no difference, the self will also change, this is stating an established tenet. Even if it is admitted that there is no grasper and no grasped, since appearance is directly perceived, it is impossible to eliminate appearance. Therefore, to explain that the absence of dualistic appearance is not the absence of things, it is said, "If it is non-dual, then the non-duality of all diversity is because of that." Mere appearance is not without self or dual self because of permanence, because merely abiding, through knowledge, permanence is unreasonable. This is the meaning of "self." Through direct perception
