If there is doubt as to whether it will not change, and then a question is raised and explained, this is what is called "seeing merit." The happiness attained by women and others through their respective efforts does not arise merely because it is absent. What needs to be manifested will not change without a manifester. Therefore, the manifester or achiever becomes what should be accepted, and that is its meaning. That is the attachment to the so-called "I." For those who claim to have an "I," if they can see the "I," they will see it as they see "mine," and they will be able to distinguish between themselves and others. And the faults arising from this distinction will also follow, which is expressed through a concluding statement, which is called "because of that." Just as seeing "mine" is like distinguishing between oneself and others, it will only become the source of faults, and that is its meaning. Attachment is explanation. Attachment to the realm of "mine" is the root of samsara, but attachment to the realm of "I" is not. To dispel this doubt, the statement "However, only for me" is presented. The "I" that is different from mind and so on is invisible, therefore mind itself is the "I." Mind is momentary, therefore it cannot be said that it is not the "I," because just as one experiences other non-conceptual knowledge, it is also momentary. We were like this yesterday, and we are like this today, this is merely the attachment of conceptual thought. The arising of such conceptual thought is nothing other than attachment to the "I," which is what is called "certainly for me." If it is said that what should be abandoned is the "I" and conceptual thought, but not the "I" itself. Then, abandoning conceptual thought cannot be separated from desire, and because there is no "I," there is no liberation. To dispel this doubt, it is said, "The faultless I." The very establishment by valid cognition is a commitment to abide in wisdom. That wisdom itself is attachment, and if there is no valid cognition of wisdom, it will become saying that there is no "I." If it is said that attachment is not merely acknowledging the view of "I" and "mine"? That is also the root of samsara, therefore it is faulty and should be abandoned. To dispel this doubt, the statement "However, I and" is presented. That refers to "mine." Commitment.
