Because it is the root of afflictions. In order to dispel the doubt of how the view of the perishable collection itself is ignorance, "Because it is the opposite of wisdom." Explaining this means that it is contrary to wisdom. The nature of merely preventing the absence of wisdom is. "The absence of it" means the opposite of wisdom. Nirvana also refers to the absence of remaining aggregates. However, if one thinks that the root of afflictions is ignorance, then there is no Nirvana. Therefore, it is said, "There is no." It is explained that because it is not self-nature, it is too extreme and unreasonable to be ignorance. "Other than that" means that other than that wisdom is ignorance. Why? Because it is said, "Also for form, etc." In Nirvana with remaining aggregates, there are five non-afflicted aggregates, which is a teaching. Therefore, those would also become ignorance. Therefore, it is said that because the nature of both is unreasonable to be ignorance. With "Thus," etc., the example itself establishes the tenet. If one thinks, then what is not Dharma? Therefore, it is said, "Not Dharma." Others say that the words of truth and untruth are mixed, which is "If that is the case." Showing untruth is untruth. It will not become untruth, because it shows the object as it is, so because the intention becomes other, it will not be considered untrue, which is the concluding remark. Even if there is not, if one mistakenly thinks there is, then when is there? Showing that at that time, it does not speak the meaning of untruth, so it will become lying. This also connects the word "thinking," showing that immediately there is nothing. The former shows that one obtains what one does not want, and the latter shows that one does not obtain what one wants. Showing that truth itself or untruth itself depends on thought, not on things, is "sounds, etc." Even if things exist in ultimate truth, if one determines that there is nothing and shows that there is nothing, then at that time that word is true, because discrimination is the object. Other is determination.

Or not speaking in accordance with what is agreeable. For Bodhisattvas, speaking truthfully about their thoughts as they are is true, otherwise it is untrue, which is the meaning of "for Bodhisattvas." Therefore, this is because there is no fault. "Otherwise" means the opposite of what is said. "Because it is the object" means because it is the nature of the object. If asked: How does this establish itself as a mental factor? The answer is: "Support, etc." Because it is the same as support, etc., it is called "having the same," and in the Abhidharma, this is said to be a mental factor. If ignorance is the nature of non-knowing, then it would not be said that this is the same as the object and aspect, etc. Among them, being the same as the support and object is because it is the same as the support and object of eye consciousness, etc. The aspect is the same because it has the aspect of knowing like the mind. The time is the same because it arises simultaneously. Just as the mind is one entity in one moment, mental factors are also the nature of individual entities, so the entity is the same. Therefore, because it is a mental factor, ignorance is not the nature of knowing, but only the nature of knowing. To say the scripture that is directly narrated after being established by reasoning, it is said, "Also because it is said." "From the aspect of wisdom" means liberation. If asked: Which scripture said it? The answer is: "Here." To say other scriptures, it is said, "Likewise." To dispel the doubt that the scriptures only show other ignorance, it is said, "If." "That also" means the view of the self-aggregate. "Ignorance as a limb" means that in dependent origination, ignorance is a limb, and there is no need to use imputation when speaking of it in its own nature there. That is what is meant. Therefore, saying that showing ignorance in this way, there is no valid cognition at all, that is "such ignorance." "Conversely" means that ignorance is the view of the self-aggregate, for this
