It is so. The so-called "rootless" refers to the fact that it produces its own effect without a place. If it is thought that clinging to self and so on is self-nature, because it can produce an effect, it will become unborn, so the former view is put forward, which is "if for the rope." The answer to the debate from another aspect is that because it focuses on existence, it focuses on existence. That is the beginningless ignorance, that is it. This explains the root cause of inner error. Doubting the existence seen is what makes it exist, that is, being deceived by it. The cause of being in the object is also transmitted, which is "like this." The word "or" means the word "and." It is said by the narrator. When something has been seen before, not seen in the middle, and then seen again, at this time, because of doubting the existence in the middle, impermanence is not seen. If it is said that, if from the nominal point of view, are different appearances not just existence? The answer is: yes, but the term "khad" is not used either, because there is no need. This is what "the term is" means. This explains that just because of the action, if different appearances are not examined, it becomes the cause of not being able to express that itself. Thinking that the appearance of other similarities is also a cause, this is "or." An example of the reason for clinging to similarity as one is "twins." If it is said that, in the so-called "focusing on existence," is there not also the appearance of other similarities? The answer is: no. This is "the former is." If it is said that, if one wanted to say that earlier, why is that? Because without seeing other similarities, one would not be particularly attached to one, that's what one thinks. This is what "from where" means. The so-called arising from grass and other things, this shows dissimilarity. If it is dissimilar, but not deceived just because of the action, so it is thought to be one, then, no. Therefore, there, what is one thinking of doing by relying on seeing other similarities? Or, because being near fire is fire, it is thought that there, too, it is because seeing other similarities that one is so attached. So it is said, "get close to it." If one wants to know how to get close to the fire, one says "from the fire." If one wants to know from where, one says "at first."

Moreover, it is said that the occurrence of other similarities in other ways is called "also." "From that fire itself" means that seeing is inferred from following after seeing. So, for the case of taking grass and other things, at first it is thought to be produced from fire, so it is said "produced from the same kind." Thus, relying on two ways, being deceived by the appearance of other similarities is said to be conceptual thought. Therefore, it is called "therefore." "That also" means that because existence is seen, it is always suspected to exist in that way, so it is not deceived. Saying another explanation is called "also." It is not that there is doubt that it exists in that way, or because of doubting that it exists in that way, so there is doubt about it existing in that way. If it is not like that, then there is no doubt about it existing in that way. Therefore, it is not deceived, that is, it is completely satisfied. Stating that there is no doubt that it exists in that way is called "it exists in that way." If you ask where it comes from, it is said "always." Previously, it was said "because existence is seen" in order to establish that it is not deceived, but now, in order to establish that there is no doubt that it exists in that way, it is specifically said "always." If you ask, why is there no doubt about seeing without interruption? It is said "if it is not seen." When seeing is not seen in between, whenever it is seen, observe what is called "other similarities," etc., so it is called "whenever." Welcoming and sending back the doubt that it is the only one is called "destruction." Recognizing that destruction is death. If you ask, are the undestroyed and the only one the same? If you doubt why it is not valid cognition, it is said "because there is no pervasion, it is not valid cognition." If you ask, how is it unreasonable? It is said "that also." Or, merely seeing things, or merely producing other similarities, is not the cause of not understanding, then what is it? Concluding, it is also the habitual tendencies of beginningless ignorance, so it is called "therefore." From that point on, it is the statement of the establishment of all afflictions. For non-duality, this should also be measured. That itself.

The reason for saying "of" is that the deluded are indeed temporary. "Luminosity" is the nature of holding that very thing. "By nature" means solely from the essence. How is luminosity understood? It is said, "Indeed, it is permanent." Saying "If that is so, this will be accomplished" means that defilements such as clinging to self are temporary and not of the nature of self. Because it is without a root, it is without an object. Because it is merely the extent of a false promise. Because it is merely an unexamined presumption. If analyzed, it is merely self-awareness, therefore there is no attachment, which is the meaning to be expressed. To completely abandon the dispute that says, "Even if it becomes self, faults will arise like the path," the final conclusion is, "Therefore, even before." From becoming the self of that, even in the state of this shore before, it is so. Why is there no ability later? For some who have become the path, the reason why faults arise is that the place is not the other shore, but because the path itself, which is obtained from some distinction, causes harm, so it is said, "Even if there is ability." The path is what causes harm. The ability to generate that is power, meaning the accumulation of habitual tendencies. Even if it is only able to generate the essence of that, the object of mind, it does not have the ability to last and grow, because it is not lasting, this is the connection. If one says "faith and so on," to refute this dispute, it is said that this verse is the answer. If one says that faults will arise. If one says, just as what arises from not being accustomed to clinging to self and so on should be prevented by effort, similarly, even if one is accustomed and becomes the self of that path, should it also be prevented by effort? The answer is: "Without harm." Without harm, if one sees faults in something that does not possess faults, and strives to abandon it, that is also non-existent, which is to say there is no cause. The two, true meaning and nature, are also impossible to abandon, which is to say there is no cause for effort. Reversal does not harm clinging to self and so on. The mind itself that possesses effort is non-existent, without effort.
