The clinging to "I," etc., arises from habituation and is the basis for desire, etc., because it is the basis. This means that it has the meaning of being associated with defilements. The cause is the clinging to "I" and "mine," not just the cause, because it would be the same as before (with faults). Its power depends on it. Its essence is itself, because of it. Because of the power of cause, suffering is also the same. The word "also" should be placed in a different order. From the explanation, the word "also" is to summarize the meaning of arising from habituation. For example, because clinging to "I," etc., depends on desire, not habituating those (clinging) that arise from habituation is superior, and the opposite is incompatible, so it has already been said that habituation is superior. If it is said, is the clinging to "I" not a cause? This is also not something that does not arise from habituation, because it is an object different from the body and senses, etc. In the state of mind, etc., although there is no sensory function and the body is not the object of focus, there is still the experience of clinging to "I," because it is said that even if the body is not focused on, "I" will become like this. To eliminate this doubt, it is said, "Not self." "I" is also not the object of focus. That self-awareness is not an object that exists uninterruptedly in objects and times, etc., because it is an object of close perception. It is also not a special attachment, because after following seeing, one clings to the seen body, etc., as different from external objects, and the object and time are cut off. Therefore, how can the existence of a real thing that is different from the body and cut off be established? "I" is not directly perceived, because it is only present nearby, so it would become momentary. So what is it? It should be recognized through inference. For example, desire and hatred and effort, etc., and the feeling of pleasure and pain, etc., which are the results, are what make it possible to understand the cause of the basis, which is called "I." Experiences and memories and desires, etc., which have different times, do not arise without things existing at that time, because
