Now, regarding the view that holds matter and mind as distinct, based on preconceived notions, it is refuted with "If." If it is said that in this body, one is tangible, while pleasure and so on are other, its nature is not tangible, and among these two, it is through the other tangible that one comprehends, not through pleasure and so on, if one admits this, then it is established that pleasure and so on are different from the tangible. Therefore, this "therefore" is a concluding word. The nature of matter and mind are indeed different, this is the connection. If one doubts, "How could this be?", it is connected with "Because contradictory qualities exist." If one doubts, "How could that be?", it is said, "Because different appearances are comprehended." "If" is used to welcome the doubts of others. Although this has already been refuted, it is merely welcoming doubts in order to further point out faults. "Pointing out that" refers to the arising of pleasure. "In any case, it will also arise in the same way for touch," is the meaning. "That" refers to the pleasing. "Cause" here refers to the arising of pleasure. "What do you consider this pleasing to be?", the meaning of this phrase is that if analyzed, the pleasing itself is not something that exists. "Then, how could someone find it endearing?", it is said, "Because of the remnants of sevenfold karma." "Then, is there something pleasing other than being beneficial?", it is said, "Beneficial." "If that is the case," is the reasoning that has already been stated. Even though there is no mind with a pleasing nature separate from the body. "Existence" refers to the nature of karma, the difference in causes, because this world does not exist. The pleasing itself is not a property of the body, but rather, it is a property of the knowledge of the comprehender, because it exists in a suitable realm, so it is not unknowing, but rather it knows itself, this is what is said by "If that is the case." "From cause" refers to from external objects. "Otherwise" is related to "will be comprehended by others." "If" refers to others. "That" refers to the pleasing. "Outside" is the answer. "That" refers to
