It is not so, because until the Buddha's teachings are obtained, one would completely fall into nirvana. This clarifies the statement "liberation from the world of Vishnu," which means "in all aspects." Asking because one does not understand the nature of non-retrogression means, "What is non-retrogression?" Here, the reversal and severance of its essential nature are explained, which means "birth." Abandoning all the discriminations based on the notion of "mine" and centered on awakening is because they have not arisen before, because there is no seed. The state of being without fault is reaching the city of liberation, thus connecting it, being without birth is also reaching the city of liberation. If one wonders how there could be retrogression again, then to clarify the meaning that has already been stated, it means "fault." If one wonders from where the state of being without fault arises, then it is said, "Because there is no self-view." For being without birth, the reason is also stated, which is "because there are no afflictions." Therefore, it is because there is no self-view and no afflictions. If one assumes that even if there is no self-view, etc., but because karma has not been exhausted, how can there be no retrogression? The arising of birth depends on two things, so how can it arise with karma? If one assumes that seeing with the self-nature of self and mine is not the cause of desire, etc., but rather through knowing how to pursue pleasure, etc., or because of the object of attachment itself, or because of the essence of attachment itself. Therefore, it is these that should be abandoned, not the self-nature. To dispel this doubt, it is said, "Because there is also no self-view." Because there is no self-view, from what else would afflictions arise after retrogression? Afflictions arise only from self-view. Because the habitual tendencies of self-view have been abandoned. The author of the sutra expresses it through the implied meaning of the phrase "not returning again," but not directly, that is what is meant. What is expressed is the work of benefiting the self.

The word 'of earth' is the collection of 'I'. The so-called 'I' is the telling. Those that are beneficial and harmful to me, are those that sequentially possess attachment. What does not change in the time of faults? If one thinks, how can ignorance not exist? That is what is called 'no-self'. If one sees the Dharma of no-self, then ignorance will also greatly recede, what is said is non-duality. If knowing and seeing no-self, are they not equally harmful? Therefore, just as seeing one as no-self becomes harmful, so too is seeing. Therefore, if one doubts that faults will revert again, then it is said 'if'. The so-called 'not reverting' means it will revert. Therefore, the so-called 'therefore' is because of reverting. Or if one thinks that the remaining others will revert, then it is said that there are no remaining others apart from reverting. Reverting itself is the remaining, that is its meaning. Answering that, those that possess correct and incorrect objects, their power is not the same. Here it is said thus. Seeing no-self is harmful because it is true, because it is different, because it is self-nature. Thinking of self is not because of others, because it is a reversion from that. If one asks what is remaining, the answer is body and speech. The so-called becoming inverted, means it is contrary, because it is a reversion from that, it means because there is no truth itself and contrariness itself. Having said the words of truth and difference, the word of self-nature is told, which is also different self-nature. Because it is a collection, therefore difference is separated from the word and followed by telling. Among them, truth and contrary self, because they possess measure, are shown approximately, because it is self-nature, therefore it is shown that one should strive to prevent it. Or if one thinks that thinking of self will also change in the same way, therefore it becomes harmful, then it is said thinking of self. If one asks why, the answer is because of no-self. The so-called 'if' is of others. What is created by afflictions is of body, speech, and mind.
