If it is thought that one wants to say, if that is the case, then it is unreasonable to think that knowing is two moons because it is related to one existing moon. Therefore, it must be said without a doubt: that is not the basis itself, even if it encounters one existing moon, it cannot establish knowledge as its form, and because it sees what does not exist. If that is the case, then what is the only basis that generates the knowledge that appears as the form of existence? How did this come about here? If that is the case, then the mind is not contradictory to the basis itself, and if that is the case, then not having deafness, blindness, etc., is also not, because in the continuums of those, there is no complete maturation of actions of that kind. This shows that what manifests is the basis of the cause itself. Also, when one wants to manifest, if one wants the action of the mind, then what shows that the main thing is only the mind itself is called "other." "Distracted" refers to the time when one is thinking about other things, or in a state of sorrow, etc. If knowledge itself is not produced when thinking about other things, then where is there something unclear? If it is said that it is also unclear in sorrow because the basis itself is weakened, then the answer is that when one is very incapable, from where knowledge has not arisen, when one loses some ability, some things with unclear forms will arise, which is only reasonable. Because being disturbed by sorrow is the cause of the weakening of the basis and being unclear, it is clearly shown that being unclear is the great power of the mind, because the basis is also transformed, so knowledge is also unclear. If it does not become unclear without the transformation of the basis, then is that itself not the main thing? No, because it depends on the basis becoming weakened or becoming clear, so this is only related to the mind. Then, will the weakening of sorrow, etc., itself become confused? It is not like that, even if the mind is the main thing, because of distinguishing the basis, it is established that this is the confusion of the basis. If it is said, this is an argument. That is also, this is the answer. This is called following all forms

when one wants to measure. Obscurity is the knowledge of the obscure. Whatever enters into the act of making the object manifest, that itself is called direct perception. If it is reasonable to make it manifest, then what hinders direct perception? Or, "this is" refers to the past, etc. How could it be obscurity and not non-obscurity? If what has been made manifest is obscurity, then what fault would there be? The answer is: because it has been made manifest. However, this debate is for the purpose of expressing a deeper meaning. In this regard, it was previously said that merely making it manifest is direct perception, and it does not depend on the sense faculty. Immediately after that, because making it manifest is the cause, the mind itself is the sense faculty, this is the established tenet. If that is the case, then if making it manifest depends on the sense faculty, then at that time, the function of the sense faculty must also be acknowledged as being established through inference. This is what is to be expressed. Explaining this is, the function of the sense faculty itself. Not only the direct perception of the sense faculty, but all modes are also inference. If one says, through what will it exist? If one wants to know how to understand this, the answer is: the entry of inference is what is said. The function of the present and others' eyes, etc., is also understood through inference, not only matters of the past, etc. Because it makes everything manifest. Because it understands the function of the present and others. Or, one should also observe the connection of the word "also" with each individual. The function of the sense faculties of each individual is also through inference, not through direct perception. If one says, even without the function of the eyes, etc., it can make it manifest. Then, this proves that making it manifest does not depend on the function of the sense faculties. Therefore, even without the function of the sense faculties, merely making it manifest can establish the term direct perception, this is the intended meaning. Therefore, the past, etc., and the function of the sense faculties that depend on it, when understood through inference, then the yogi who makes it manifest, both have the ability.
