How does it transform then? Thinking, how can it exist without an object, and how does it transform? (The text says:) "These realizations are," meaning that thoughts about stability and freedom, etc., are also. (Question:) Because there is no object, if it does not follow the previous intention, then at that time it will only not transform, that is what is thought in the mind. (Question:) What is the difference? The meaning of the question called "What is the difference?" is this: the absence of an object and the proximity of habits are common to all. Therefore, the thought that "this does not exist" is a thought with a definite basis, and how does it transform sometimes in between? The meaning of "grasping, because the mind is focused on it" is that the one who realizes that the things seen in the dream, the mind is focused on truth and untruth. This shows that for what, the mind is not focused on what, then at that time it will not produce thoughts of establishing and refuting it. Because one thinks that oneself is troubled by sleep, even if one does not see what is seen in the dream, one cannot be sure that it does not exist, so the distinction is made that the one who realizes identifies himself with the nature of waking up, the difference that the object seen in the dream, the object seen does not exist, transforms into realization with a definite time and manner. The decaying body is the body that arises in the dream. Abandoning it, one thinks that one has woken up. (Question:) Then, how is it just thinking that one has woken up, and not really waking up? (The text says:) "This also," meaning that the knowledge that "I have woken up" is also abandoned. Because of such realization. (The text says:) "Foolish," means without wisdom. The term "his" refers to the person in the dream state. The term "those" refers to the things seen when waking up. (Question:) Why? Because the obstacles such as walking related to those things in the dream state do not exist in the things seen when waking up, meaning that it is established because there is no obstacle. The obstacles such as houses seen when waking up do not exist, so it is thought that there is no need for others to establish non-existence. (The text says:) "Walking, etc." is the explanation of the latter half. "In the manner of action" is the explanation of the first half. "What is to be established by realization,"

English
The aspect is due to its unreal nature. The term "unreal" indicates proximity. It is also real. Thus, having shown through other means that dreams are unreal, it concludes by saying that it is unreal in the way it is expressed, which is the meaning of "therefore." However, destruction only occurs during the dream state because the habit is not stable. Therefore, there is no subsequent connection in the waking state, so it is not accomplished. If it were not so, there would be no different names, that is what is thought. The term "only this" means only destruction. The term "even at that time" means even at the time of appearance. For what reason is the dream not unreal in this way, it is connected to this. Or, it is concluded in relation to the absence of existence in the bardo. Therefore, the statement that consciousness does not arise merely from the great elements is the meaning here. Also, in other ways, in order to refute that body and mind are not separate entities, it is said "furthermore." "Each atom becomes consciousness" means that there will be as many minds as there are atoms on one. The term "thus" is in the nature of consciousness. The term "if it is an object" is a term of logic, meaning, for what reason is it an object. Since atoms are not objects, they are not the nature of consciousness. That is what is thought. The term "even if it is so" is related to the atoms becoming objects. Why? Because they reside on the atoms, that is, because of aggregation. Even if it is so, how could they be like that? If you think so, atoms have touch, because they rely on the substance of the cause, that is why. These two logics state that atoms are the cause of aggregation. Therefore, if they are not consciousness, how can the part with limbs be consciousness? The merit of the cause of aggregation is that it creates the merit of the object of the fruit. The cloth gathered from white threads will turn red.

English
This is illogical. Therefore, even if one admits to having limbs, it is difficult to avoid faults. It is the assembly of existence. This indicates that atoms are merely moving, not the cause of aggregation. The effect does not merely follow the cause, like weavers and wool, etc. Therefore, there is no fault as stated. If one asks what the cause of aggregation is, it is the thought of not following the views of others. If that is the case, then this is the answer. If something like this becomes the cause, then how can one understand that an object with limbs is born from atoms? Because they themselves are not consciousness, they cannot understand that an object with limbs is born from themselves. If the knowledge of the nature of an object with limbs transforms into something else, thereby becoming understandable, that is also not the case, because it is said that it is "self-awareness." Because it does not go beyond the self-awareness of consciousness itself. Because it does not go beyond knowing one's own nature. By the power of knowing one's own nature, it will be understood as self-illuminating, but other words are not consciousness either. Therefore, even if limbs are the nature of consciousness, how does one know that oneself is born from atoms? Because one cannot tolerate this, one says, "other, or." Therefore, it is thought that speaking about the aspect of self-awareness is without fault. The conclusion is, even so, can an object with limbs know that it is born from atoms? After posing this refutation, it is proven by the small reason that it is self-awareness. Then, how is it? Just as blue is seen from experiencing blue, happiness is also born from experiencing happiness, and there is nothing that exists in common with other things. They think that our happiness is what is called peaceful consciousness. Merely saying what others desire is to transform into something else. Happiness is like that, but in the view of those with consciousness, because it is the merit of the self, it is the recognition of the aggregation of the same thing. The common refutation is, if one recognizes the transformation into something else, it is because it is not observed.
