This is about the meaning expressed in the verses of the Abhidhamma. If one wants to know whether it is the same in the place of birth, then one should examine whether one sees consciousness arising in some cases between cessation and non-cessation. The answer is that the sutra speaks of place and time. One should also observe "cessation." In this regard, for example, in deep sleep and so on, consciousness is interrupted by time and arises, and offering is also the same, these two cases have been discussed before. Regarding the two cases of interruption and non-interruption by place, the sutra says, "Thus." Both of these cases should be understood as being in a dream. If so, then it will be thought that in either case, one should examine whether consciousness arises in the place where it arises. Therefore, the sutra says, "Thus," meaning that it is the same as the state just mentioned. The so-called "no difference" refers to completely taking birth from a dream, which is the remaining part. If, because dreams and dharma are the same, the intermediate state does not exist, but if there is another birth, then at that time will it also become unreal like a dream? The answer is that the sutra says that dreams are unreal. Why? The answer is that the sutra says, "Because of everything." However, for what is to be proven, even if other states are not observed, but merely because it is observed that one has gone to another place, one enters into the meaning of showing similarity, then this is established. These truths and untruths are not completely the same, because appearance and function are common to both, as mentioned before. Therefore, both are only of the same kind. So, how do you establish the difference with truth and untruth? The answer is that the sutra says, "Other births." The so-called "truth" refers to the name of truth. The so-called "because it is not there" refers to the fact that there is no display of habitual tendencies. If it is not like this, there is no difference between dreams and non-dreams, in order to show this meaning, the reasons for those differences are doubted and eliminated, which is "if." Because the consciousness of waking, its nature is different from dreams, and it is obtained later. Therefore, the so-called "therefore" is because the consciousness of dreams has the nature of other appearances. The so-called "other birth" refers to the nature of waking consciousness.
