To show that this is merely a commitment and not a valid cognition, the other's doubt is addressed with "However." How can oneness be the object of dispute since it is understood as oneness? That is the meaning. It is understanding and experience, not just attachment. Therefore, it is thought that the manifest negation is not established. The meaning of refutation is this: For the time being, if the manifest cognition that grasps the later does not grasp the earlier, then this view stands. If it is not so, then grasping one instant would entail grasping all the collections of time segments, which is not the function of the senses. If the earlier is inferred from the manifest, then there is no valid cognition for the earlier and the later being one, which means there is no manifest. If one says that although the nature of the earlier is not known, what contradiction is there in understanding it as one together with it? It is said, "Because there is no non-understanding." Because there is no experience, one cannot experience the oneness that depends on it. Merely understanding as one that is established by its own nature does not establish the distinction that one wants to express. Therefore, the oneness together with the earlier is because of the manifest negation. It is not an object of knowledge. Therefore, recognition is merely a commitment of the Svātantrika, not a valid cognition, that is the intention. Similarly, one should examine "In former times, the later is not inferred from the manifest," and so on. Because there is no oneness in the ultimate sense from the earlier and the later, therefore. Conventionality is conceptual thought, and what is established by it is conventional, but expressing it itself is "the understanding of the earlier and earlier." It is concluded with "It is merely a commitment, not a valid cognition," which is about this conventional understanding. Because the condition of 'ana' is added to its own meaning, it is called conventional, but it means conventional. What is explained with the conceptual thought of oneness with parts as the main focus is pot, etc. Knowledge is a special attachment to oneness. Those knowledges refer to the knowledge of sound, etc. Because it is a conceptual thought of collection, the grasped and the grasper are not valid cognitions.

So, let's combine it with the context! Because the consciousness with divisions is the object of grasping and the grasped, it is shown not to be valid cognition, but only shows a commitment, that is, "different from the collection" and so on. Other pervasive grasps are the sixth kind of manifest attachment. Falling away means falling into difficulties, because it is separated from the correct view. Thus, if it is said that valid cognition is not deceptive, and the deception called "consciousness" is spoken of, then in explaining the words of consciousness in the Commentary on Valid Cognition, with the combination of context and occasion as a prelude, the refutation of others is "if" and so on. When the division to be recognized itself does not exist, and the object to be grasped has also perished and cannot be obtained, and the agent itself is common, if both are abandoned, then after becoming Bhagavan, what else remains? Truly, the meaning of establishing manifest conduct is dependent on external objects, because other consciousnesses act on this and accomplish meaning, and claiming to experience it is also the same. In reality, since non-discrimination ultimately reaches its limit only by its own nature, it is only when other consciousnesses are falsely imputed by discrimination that it acts. Therefore, since it is determined that the fault lies in this, when discrimination is abandoned, since Bhagavan abides by the nature of non-discrimination, everything is not contradictory. Now, wanting to establish the mind as valid cognition in another way, it therefore acts from the previous statement. Acting to accomplish what is desired is engaging in valid cognition, and since it cannot be without a complete determination of the difference of objects, therefore, relying on the two fruits, all those who engage in meaning are seeking. If it is said that the complete determination that relies only on oneself is the main fruit of valid cognition, and that conduct is uncertain because it depends on the individual, even so, since valid cognition is a near necessity when acting to accomplish the individual's wishes, therefore, relying on this and taking the conduct itself as the main fruit, the mind is first established as valid cognition. Therefore, complete determination is made by its division itself.
