The explanation of deciding on the object taken as the ground is: it is called "eye, etc." The word "etc." includes the ground and the connection of aggregation, etc. Even if the eyes are open, because the power of the mind is weak, if knowledge does not arise, it will not function. If it is said that the consciousness that functions is valid, then the conceptual thought itself will become erroneous. In response to this, it is said in the sutra, "Conceptual thought is." It means that even for very familiar things, it is thought that even without conceptual thought, it can function, which can be observed. In the case of having differences, it will be summarized. The so-called "previous" is to eliminate conceptual thought. The so-called "consciousness itself" is to eliminate the eye, etc. In order to explain the elimination of conceptual thought, it is said in the sutra, "Conceptual thought, etc." Then, for unfamiliar objects, conceptual thought itself is what functions, so will it become valid? In response to this, it is said in the sutra, "For unfamiliar things." For some that depend on the difference of time, the same name is firmly established, which is what is called. Formed by the similarity that is different from others, if there is no interval, it will change, just like mothers, etc. Similarly, for the object of doubt, it is also because similar similarities are seen, so it is thought that "this is that," thereby determining it as the same, which is inference. Then, will this inference hinder momentary arising and ceasing? No, because it is only establishing the same name. If it is said that determination is also the same name, then how can it be determined as the same for things at different times, which is not contradictory to determining it as momentary arising and ceasing? No, because we want to call it the same on the conventional level. Therefore, even if otherness is negated on things at different times, there is no fault. Precisely because of this, the lost object is found, which is not contradictory to the owner himself. If it is said, why can't the same of ultimate truth be established? No, because the same and pervasiveness of ultimate truth are not established. By establishing conventions, pervasiveness can be obtained. Because it is difficult to abandon for mothers, etc. Therefore, on unfamiliar things, because the same of name is not established, recognition, etc. will be taken. There, too, it functions without differentiation, with the same meaning.

Regarding some things like form, for those that have a stable name of "one," in some realms of mistaken cognition, such a name is established. If that is the case, even if qualities are removed, the so-called "blue" refers to what can be expressed by the sound of blue, because it is contrary to non-blue. Just like in conventional times, all of these will become inferences, therefore, because it is the grasper and the grasped, inference is not a valid cognition. If you say that, then it is wrong. It should not be said that way, because in this way, where the very clear direct perception itself is the cause of names, and conceptual thought arises in a close gathering, then in all these cases, conceptual thought should not be a valid cognition, because depending on the realm of mistaken cognition, the opportunity for valid cognition is reasonable. Therefore, the knowledge that thinks "that is this" is only the grasper and the grasped when two appearances manifest. And the views of others, for the ultimately true "one," only the self-sufficient commitment of the Svatantrika is not a valid cognition, for the conventionally true "one," it is inference, thus distinguishing. Similarly, it should be inferred in other aspects as well. For example, for blue, if the function of direct perception is removed, then the conceptual thought of blue is the grasper and the grasped, and what is unclear is inference. Depending on having other qualities of blue, only the commitment of non-entity is not a valid cognition. The doubtful entity is also not a valid cognition, thus it is established. If direct perception also functions, and samsara and nirvana are only functioning and not functioning, then how can it be completely established, therefore conceptual thought itself should be abandoned, because like a fault, if it is not just recollection, then what will happen from the recognition that direct perception excludes the same object? Enough with the elaboration. The reason stated is: these are two kinds of knowledge related to the nature of remembering other things and other things. Thus, by establishing that the recognition of the grasper and the grasped itself is not a valid cognition, the "one" together with the former and the present is the focus of the dispute, because what is said is unbearable, therefore the realization of recognition does not depend on the function of direct perception.
