Thus it is said. Furthermore, the meaning of 'for what reason' is that 'therefore' is related to what will be explained immediately. Not all who know about this world and the next, etc., are omniscient. However, some know about this world and the next, etc. Therefore, their words themselves are प्रमाण (pramāṇa, valid cognition), but not everything is. If everything were omniscient, what contradiction would there be in this? It is said, 'If it were not like this,' thinking that it would become a single desire. Preventing all harm and how to achieve it is not just a single desire; it is the same in other ways as well. The paths of mutual explanation are not even a single result. Then, since they are the same cause, both lead to one, but will a result occur? It is said, 'Things that contradict each other' refers to situations such as harm and non-harm. If there is no definite ability to achieve something in one, then it will not be possible to distinguish between what should be abandoned and what should be accepted. If there is no uncertain ability in one, and if one can obtain the desired result by pursuing whatever is agreeable, what is lacking? It is said, 'If any one is emphasized,' then it is only pursuing whatever is agreeable. If one admits that the goal can be achieved by this, then the treatise is meaningless. Or, if one engages in what is indicated by it, then there is a need to compose a treatise because the result is achieved? It is said, 'It is not so,' which also applies to arbitrary pursuit. When following what is indicated by the treatise also gives results, then what is the difference between arbitrariness and it? If this is the case, then there will be no dispute, and it will not become a game. Therefore, this is a conclusion. The expositor wants to show the action of the author. Stating the main point is not the reason for the thing itself. Here, if one wants to say that if all speakers are not omniscient, then this is the remainder. Here, one should also see whether one possesses perfect qualities, or if one possesses these two qualities, then

The valid cognition of the true reason of meaning is only irreversible. However, such a form cannot be determined. Even so, it is refuted that the scriptures are not determined as valid cognition. Thus, after stating the faults arising from the author, for the examination of the non-human-made, in order to state the faults, applying that very verse to the understanding that the scriptures are not human-made, the meaning of this verse is: Whatever meaning is very clear in the mind. For it, sound is indeed valid cognition, even if it is a result, for it, the ability is unobstructed, because when knowledge has not arisen, there is no use of the domain of valid cognition. When is it valid cognition? When it is "self" and so on. When it is born from thought and so on, it is related to understanding the meaning from the speaker. At that time, for whatever is the meaning of the object of the speaker's desire, sound is valid cognition, because it is a result. For both, the statement in the Commentary on Valid Cognition, "The truth of meaning is not causal," is a meaning to be reproached. For both sides, the meaning that abides in conceptualization is the object of conceptualization that arises from sound. Because there is no agent, there is no proximate indication of revelation. Is this the meaning itself? Or is it something else? Or is there nothing at all, because it cannot be determined, how can sound be the valid cognition of the reason for that very meaning? The explanation of the word "the action of the speaker," which abides in this, is "the speaker himself." If the conceptualization arising from sound appears in the mind as an external meaning, because of particularly clinging to the external, then, what is said, "whatever meaning appears in the mind is." If it is not so, if because of particularly clinging to the external, then whatever meaning is clear in the mind is the meaning, then, all the manifested meanings are easy to understand. "That meaning" and so on are others, it is that which abides in conceptualization. The establishment of all manifested meanings is not like that. Then, "that" and so on is refutation, it is the meaning of the characteristics of heavens and so on. At that time
