Indeed, it is so. However, merely by pursuing what should be done, if one pursues not being deceived in accomplishing what should be done, then one should start from the valid cognition itself. Not from non-valid cognition, because sometimes one might be deceived. With such a thought, one will seek valid cognition. Therefore, what is intended to be said is that one must rely on the object to be determined in order to be called having the realm of objects. Because it is said in the scriptures that valid cognition has the realm of objects. What is to be grasped itself is not necessarily an object. Whatever enters into action by pursuing what should be done, because it is worthy of attachment, is called particularly attached. If it is not an object, entering into it will be deceived, therefore it is not valid cognition. Therefore, what is to be grasped does not depend on the object itself, because it is related to destruction and what is to be determined, just like inference. If it is so, then seeing a conch shell and wanting to obtain silver, being attached to silver and entering into action, is not because one wants to obtain the conch shell itself. When it appears as something else, entering into something else, this will be explained later. Therefore, saying that relying on what is to be grasped, what is meaningful is valid cognition, is refuted. If merely because of not deceiving, grasping at an object is valid cognition, then the cognition of silver would also become valid cognition. To this, if it is said that in conceptual thought, the appearance of something that is not an object exists, then the valid cognition of inference would also become without reason. Therefore, pursuing non-deception itself and grasping at an object is not correct, or, even in conceptual thought, it should be said that one is grasping at an object, so that the cognition of silver being valid cognition would also be abandoned. Or, the cognition of silver itself is indeed with silver as its object, but it is not a valid cognition that clearly relates to other factors such as place and time. For the time being, as proof of valid cognition, isn't grasping at the object itself existent? Being more clearly related to other factors such as place does not harm it. Because from that entry, one is deceived by being related to other factors such as place, even if there is grasping at meaning, it is still valid cognition. Therefore, grasping at meaning is not the characteristic of valid cognition, because it would be too extreme. To this, there was none before.

Moreover, the so-called "knowing" is also refuted by this very same reason. The so-called "harmless" means that it can be applied immediately. If one insists on it here, if one wants to express the thing itself, then at that time it is the thing itself. Because it does not deceive the function of the thing. Non-deception itself is valid cognition. If one asks, "Is non-deception not also from the thing itself?" It is true, both prove each other. Even so, mentioning the thing in other definitions is because it creates doubt about acceptance or entry. Because it is difficult to explain, and because those who want to enter need to rely on it, non-deception itself is the definition of valid cognition. It is not grasping the thing or harmlessness itself. If that is the case, returning when abiding is "if" and so on. If one can know the knowledge that establishes by its own nature, because non-deception is knowledge itself. The so-called "what is there to examine" means that by abandoning examination, it is said that treatises are not needed. The so-called "then valid cognition itself will not exist" means that because the things cognized by knowledge that combines with the same thing are seized by faults, and also because they do not accept self-awareness. Because there is no opportunity for memory, knowledge itself will not exist, therefore it will become a large inanimate object. Thus, if one does not admit that there is no recognition of one's own nature, knowledge itself will not exist, and after establishing this, stating other faults to it is "this position." The so-called "not recognizing one's own nature," this position is also not tolerable to you Buddhists, because Buddhists say that they recognize their own nature, that is what is thought. The so-called "the own nature of knowledge is not valid cognition" is precisely what is to be said at the time, therefore the main thing said is non-deception itself. If one asks, "Is that which is without deception not valid cognition? If that is its own nature, then will valid cognition also become its own nature?" To such a doubt, it was said that that which is without deception is not. If it is not its own nature, then what is it? "However" and so on were said. Knowledge is non-deception itself.
