Becoming a cause itself is not the result, because there is no doing in what is done. If making the unclear clear, then that is also non-existent, how can it be done? If it exists, then what is done to it? If that is also made clear by others, then it becomes endless. Furthermore, does the result arise from a causeless source or from an existing one? To this, if the result arises from a causeless source, then at that time it will also arise from sky flowers and so on, what difference is there between what was not before and what is completely non-existent? If because it exists it is the object of a cause, then at the time when it exists it is not a cause, and at other times it is a cause, thus it is well said. If it is the cause itself at the time of non-existence, then wouldn't all non-existence become a cause? No action is seen in existence and non-existence. If because existence has action it becomes the cause itself, then is that action from another action, or from its own nature? To this, if the action is from another action, then at that time, that also because another action precedes it, the continuation of action will become long. If the action is from its own nature, then at that time the result also becomes the cause by its own nature, what is the point of examining other actions? If one's own nature is the cause, then everything will become the cause of everything, it is said. If the result arises from an existing cause, then because it is simultaneous, there is no object of cause and result, like a pillar and a pot, it is said. The cause of knowledge is meaning, so isn't it understood by inference? That is not true, like this, if it is allowed that the previously existing, which is understood by inference, is established, how can one know by experience that its object is the cause? The object established by inference does not become the cause of direct perception, and it is unreasonable to understand the object seen by direct perception as the cause of inference. Inference does not apply to what has been made manifest, because its object is hidden. Direct perception also does not apply to what is hidden, because it has a non-hidden object. If

If it is said that it is hidden because what is already manifest is known by being hidden, then this is not the case. If the nature of things is already understood, then what other hiddenness is there? If it is said that the appearance of what is not clear is hidden, then why is there no appearance of what is not clear in direct perception itself? This cannot be admitted, because isn't it the case that in direct perception there are two natures of appearing clear and not clear? For example, a pillar has a part on this side and a part on that side, and it becomes direct perception through experiencing them in sequence. If it is further said that direct perception does not simultaneously experience the nature of both clear and unclear things, then at that time there will be no things with two natures in the three realms. If it is said that it is because of the particular that there is clarity and unclearness, and that blue itself is the nature of things, then if the particular is not on different things, then things will not become direct perception, because clarity and unclearness only arise from experiences other than the particular, and the nature of blue and so on will not appear there. If it is said that experiencing blue and so on is direct perception, then inference will also become direct perception because it experiences the nature of blue. If it is said that inference is not direct perception because it is not connected with the senses, then why does inference not have a connection with the senses? In this way, inference is the knower of the nature of things, so it is intended to show that it is related to the senses. If it is said that inference is not connected with the senses because there is no thing, if inference does not grasp things, then how will it appear? If there is no appearing thing in inference, then inference will become objectless, therefore inference cannot understand the things of cause and effect. Precisely for this reason, it is said that "all are without power." In response to this, it is said: "In seeds and so on, sprouts and so on, power is seen." The meaning of this sentence is that sprouts arise from seeds and so on, which is well known in the world and appears without investigation. Just like this, recognizing "seeing blue"
