However, through understanding of meaning or through reputation, it can also be recognized at other times that it arises from itself. For example, now, it is directly aimed at immediately after it. If it does not arise from it at other times, then it will not be aimed at its subsequent even once. If so, then the pillar will also be seen immediately after the wall, so isn't it also produced by it? If it is said that pillars and the like are seen mistakenly, then according to this reasoning, sprouts and the like will also be mistakenly produced from seeds and the like. If it is said that it is not known to be mistaken, but worldly people trust it, then the reputation of worldly people itself has the distinction between cause and effect. The reputation that is prevalent in the world, if not examined, is only a pleasant conventional truth, not the ultimate truth. Therefore, it is said that if it is considered conventional truth. Here it is said: How can it be so? That is, whether it is conventional truth or ultimate truth, it is known to all the world that seeds and the like have the ability to produce sprouts and the like. Worldly terms are not reasons for ultimate truth. Because there are no terms in ultimate truth. Terms are established only by intention. Just like the fixed terms in dreams, the terms of cause and the like are also only fixed. That term is also the cause of beginningless fixed habits, not external things. Without habits, the object of knowledge and the part of knowledge without an object will disappear. If it is said, what is conventional truth? If it is true, how can it be conventional truth? If it is said that what is untrue and inverted is conventional truth, then what is truth in conventional truth? Aren't truth and conventional truth contradictory? Here it is said: The so-called conventional truth is the nature of intending to increase the appearance in inverted knowledge. That also arises from beginningless habits. Therefore, what is born from beginningless habits is only appearance itself. If it is said, how can the cognition of blue and the like be untrue? Because it is cognition arising from the power of habit. For example, in dreams and the like, the experience of blue and the like is not true.

Yes, when awake, experiencing blue and other colors is not true. Because without recognizing blue and other colors, one does not see experiencing them. Therefore, from the ultimate point of view, it is neither knowledge nor the object of knowledge. Mundane terminology will not be cut off, because there is benefit. In this way, there is no contradiction in calling it the conventional truth, but from the ultimate point of view, it is only the absence of all things, which should be analyzed according to the specific situation. However, the nature of birth and so on is itself conventional, because it cannot be apprehended by valid cognition. Only knowledge is manifest, not birth and so on, therefore, birth is conventional. Because valid cognition cannot comprehend birth and so on itself. Is what is called conventional not without function? Is birth functional? If so, that is not true. Because the conventional is without function in the ultimate sense, therefore there is no birth in the ultimate sense. The function of what is called birth is only conceptual, and even conceptualization considers birth to exist. Therefore, birth is conceptual, so there is an internal function, but in the ultimate sense there is no function, therefore, there is no birth. How does the past produce? Would things that perished long ago also become birth? All that is said in this regard should be refuted according to the specific situation. The object of conceptualization should not be analyzed, the meaning of what is shown is that analyzing there is to call analysis valid cognition. Therefore, the object of conceptualization is not the meaning of valid cognition, that is its definition. The meaning of illusion is only that which is not cognized by valid cognition, all travelers are illusion. If so, then what is the conventional truth in that? As the Blessed One said: As long as there is worldly terminology. The parts of valid and non-valid cognition exist in name, but not in the ultimate sense, here is shown the reason for recognizing one's own nature from oneself. If everything has it, then it is not. For the characteristic of generality and wisdom. Because the phenomena of following and departing are not seen. Eyes and colors etc. are like wisdom. Regarding these, if the conventional is able to function, then is it not also present in generality and other things? Are they also present in the ultimate sense?
