It is not that the water in the wilderness is taken as real, nor is it that a mirage is mistaken. Similarly, for this knowledge arising from sound, even if the external environment does not appear, it will still be influenced by delusion. So, is there no delusion at all? Like this, to fabricate in a reversed manner, is the delusion fabricating the self-nature of knowledge, or is it fabricating the self-nature of things? If the meaning of fabrication is what? Is it that self-nature enters into other things? Or is the meaning of understanding self-nature as other things different? In either case, there is no fabrication. If it is said that clinging to what does not exist as existing is delusion, then how does one know that what is not seen does not exist? It is understood through other knowledge, because there is no focus on it. If it is thought that even if it is not the object of other seeing, then what will happen? Because it is too extreme. When one sees for oneself, one should think that it is knowledge, therefore, if it is said that there is no delusion about appearance, then it is true that there is no delusion about the self-nature of appearance. Like this, all kinds of conceptualizations act on their own self-nature, not on external objects. The self-nature of conceptualization is not non-existent, because it is known. For external objects, because conceptualization appears in a reversed way, it is delusion. Because there is no function of conceptualization of external objects that is separate from one's own self-nature, therefore, there is no function for it, and from the perspective of external objects, it is delusion. Even so, it should be established as clinging to things in a reversed way due to worldly attachment. Wherever one can obtain the meaning of seeing things as they are, then there will arise non-deceptive things, and wherever one cannot obtain the meaning of things appearing as they are, then it is delusion. If a view that follows sound arises, then it will transcend unclear cognition, because clear cognition will be obtained, so it should be a delusion. Therefore, in order to generate conceptualizations that rely on things that contradict different kinds, and in order to enter into the state of abandoning other things, it should be said that sound has the function of excluding others. So, if the image of conceptualization excludes others

If the word "is" is added, then it will also become a symbol. As long as the essence is determined by sight, it will be said "this is a cow." Because the designated thing can also be expressed through sound, does it mean that only its own characteristics can be expressed through sound? The answer is: Therefore, even in the period of symbols, by virtue of the fruit of one's own realization, the sound that is related to the thing indicated and distinguishes it from other things will also be related. Therefore, since the cause of the knowledge of the image of unclear conceptualization is sound, in the period of symbols, that is, the period of worldly terms, the self-nature of the image will be related to sound, but not to the self-nature of things themselves. The symbol "this is a cow" clearly appears as an external object, is it not an image of conceptualization? If so, how can sound be given to it? If you ask like this, it is unreasonable. Because, if you say "this is a cow" and indicate the external object, then you still need to rely on the image. Just like this, the sentence "this is its expression" is to understand it at other times. Therefore, it should be known that it is universally present at other times. Both the thing to be indicated and the thing that indicates are considered symbols. The image of other times is not the object of the senses, therefore, pointing with a finger and saying "this is a cow" is related to the clear thing, and the conceptualization is related to the same thing. The self-nature of the image, that is, the self-nature that distinguishes it from other things, will be related to sound, but not to the difference. However, if you say "this is its expression," then the clear and unclear things that are universally present at other times are not knowledge produced by attachment to the same thing. However, if you say "this is its expression," then only its own characteristics will be considered as the object of the symbol, not the image. If you say this, it is unreasonable, because this is the understanding produced through excellent habit. When it is completely determined, the image will undoubtedly be understood, and whenever relying on terms, the connection between sound and things
