It becomes connected only by seeing. Therefore, it is only for the sake of establishing the name "one with a stick" from the reason of mere conventionality that such a fault exists. If it is said that having a stick is true, not imputed by conception, that is not true, because other than the stick and the person, it does not appear as having; and the stick and the person are equally possessed. Just as one thinks that the person has a stick, so too it will become that the stick has a person. Or, when two aspects appear, the thought will arise that the stick and the person possess each other, but for them, there is no difference and no object with difference. If it is said that because it is helpful, the stick is the main one, for that, because helping and being able to help and being helped are merely imputed and established. Conventionality itself becomes the cause of the word "one with a stick," and the object of being able to help and helping is also beyond seeing and touching, therefore, when it becomes differentiated by the stick, it is not an object of the senses. Furthermore, if the sticks for each person are also different, then how can one understand "one with a stick" with a different aspect from the different sticks? Therefore, one must know that difference itself, the activities of plowing and milking are not the same, like a stick, it is the cause of a name that is not the same. Thus, for each clear thing, the activity of walking or the quality of white, although they are different, but for things there is a different understanding, just as one thinks "it is white" and "walking," one understands as the number, but for that, a knowledge with a reason of lineage does not arise. If it is said that the quality of white and the activity of walking, for that, it exists like the total number of white itself walking, this different understanding has its reason. That is not existent, because the lineage of white itself does not reside on things, however, if it exists on the quality of white, then entering into others is not born from lineage, because there is no connection. If it is said that the quality of white dwells on things, and the white itself dwells on the quality of white,

Because of the existence of genus. If it is said that realization arises from the related and the relation, then, if relation and relations etc. arise, since all things have connection through, because it will generate knowledge of all of everything. These are nothing. Therefore, from a stick etc., it is only through the difference shown by realization that the name "one with a stick" is established, but in reality it is not the reason for having a stick. In the example of the one with a stick, the knowledge of the object of the reason of the different thing is not established, therefore, the example is contrary to what is to be established. Commentary on the Compendium on Valid Cognition, Volume Eight. Now, in order to show the uncertainty, it is said: Things, houses, cloisters, etc., words also do not depend on others. For this, for the six things such as form, there is the word of things, and for the cloisters of houses and the collection of forests, etc., although words will be established, it is not dependent on other reasons, because for things such as form, there is no other genus called the thing itself. Genus is to include what is compatible with the three things. A house is not form, so how can there be a genus of the cloister itself? Therefore, how can those words be established without depending on others? The words of cows etc. are also the same, because there is no genus of the cow itself. If the house is not form, because different kinds of wood and bricks etc. do not create form, being combined with wood etc. is a house, then, it is said: If the combination is a house, then what is its cloister? If it is a genus, then even one house is called a cloister like a tree. Because genus has no genus, how can the cloister have its word? A house is not combined with one, nor is it combined with, because there are many combined with iron, wood, and bricks etc. Or, if it is admitted that a house is combined with one, then what will the cloisters of those houses become? It is not form, because its qualities will be established on the house. It is not quality, nor is it action, because those include the reason for being compatible with form.
