If it is said that only the meaning of the weakened self-nature exists, then, if that is the case, then that meaning will become an obstacle to constant knowing, and if that is the case, the mind will not experience it. Therefore, it will not be remembered either, because it is an obstacle to meaning. However, if it is said, if knowledge arises to the self, the ability gradually exhausts, and when it transfers to other objects, then, if it is said that the object of the blue mind, the self has the ability to generate knowledge, just like generating knowledge of the self, its ability gradually exhausts, and the mind transfers to objects such as form, then, here it is said: If the ability of the previous mind is exhausted, then, from where does the very nature of the object mind arise? Without the previous mind, there is no mind. Why? Because for other objects, there is no ability, because it is not seen that mind arises from mind. If it is said that if the ability of the previous mind is exhausted and it grasps the object, then, at that time, from where does the very nature of the mind that grasps the object arise? It is not. The later mind, if there is no previous mind, will not exist, because for other objects there is no ability, because the previous mind has no ability, there is no knowledge of mind arising from other objects. If it is also said that the cause of the later mind is the previous mind, then, at that time, the previous mind is close to it, it will depend on it, therefore, the previous mind is the generator, it will grasp that very nature, but not the object. Isn't the object like this, that the alaya consciousness is the cause of eye consciousness and so on? At that time, because the alaya consciousness is constantly present, if the minds all arise simultaneously, if they do not arise, even if there is no ability of other objects, will other minds arise from mind? If it is said, even if different types arise simultaneously, it is also said: Even if different types arise simultaneously, one extremely bright mind, having been made powerless, does not arise from other than alaya consciousness. It is said that even if eye consciousness and so on arise simultaneously in different types, they are also made powerless by one extremely bright powerless one, that is, making them distant from the ability to generate other minds. Therefore, other minds do not arise from alaya consciousness. If that is the case, then only the previous mind has no ability, and mind will arise and not arise, while the alaya

What is the purpose of the consciousness? For now, set aside the analysis of the Alaya consciousness. Even if the Alaya consciousness is acknowledged, it is reasonable to say that only the prior consciousness is the cause of the subsequent consciousness. If the prior consciousness is not considered the cause, then, otherwise, the mind's entry is the same, it does not depend on other minds, and the mind's consciousness arises sequentially. Dependence is fully established. To this, it is not so, if the prior consciousness is not the cause, then, the prior mind is the same as entry, it does not depend on other minds. The other mind is the subsequent consciousness. Therefore, the mind's consciousness will not arise sequentially, because the mind's consciousness arising sequentially establishes dependence. Also, the word "also" refers to being the same as the prior mind. Otherwise, the mind's consciousness arises simultaneously, so it is not the same, nor does it depend. If the mind is one, therefore, attached to others, it does not know others, is it not that other consciousness does not arise? This says, if the mind, which is different from the eye and so on, is the cause of consciousness, and because it is one, it is attached to other eyes, that is, because of attachment, it does not know other beings, that is, because it does not understand, it does not generate the consciousness of smell and so on, then, to this it is said: Because some arise together, it is not so, if entry is the same, then because it is the same, in all cases it does not know others. This says, as said, it is not that, in some places, when all objects gather closely, there is no mental obstruction, because the consciousness of form and so on arises together. Furthermore, the mind's entry is the same, that is, because it enters the prior object in the same way, in some cases there is attachment and in others there is understanding, but it is not present in all cases. Therefore, it will not hold other meanings. Furthermore, I and mind and just possessing, those born will arise simultaneously. This says, the consciousness that is the cause of the senses and objects, those minds arise sequentially, but whatever consciousness possesses only me and those minds, the discriminations of the past and so on that arise from this will arise simultaneously, because they do not depend on other meanings. Although one action is done by one (cause), why is it seen by many lamps?
