Therefore, one cannot understand the minds of others. Furthermore, it is not the wisdom of consciousness, because there is no established sign of meaning. This is said to be unable to become inference. If, after seeing the meaning, consciousness becomes inference, then at that time, if the wisdom of consciousness has no meaning, then what does the sign do? Meaninglessness is also because the past has ceased and the future has not arisen, and because it is able to grasp the definite meaning of places and so on. Otherwise, all meanings would be seen, which has already been explained. So, if consciousness is not always manifest, even so, one can infer the minds of others, etc., as long as at the time when consciousness sees the meaning, it is not apparent and is grasped by later knowledge. If this is the case, when grasping the connection, inference is made through actions such as shaking. To this, it is answered: How is your consciousness also fully illuminated by other consciousnesses? This is called: According to your view, how does other knowledge illuminate the previous consciousness? It is not. Why? Because the nature of clarity and non-clarity is the same. For what, does it become the illuminated and the illuminator? This is called: If the nature of both knowledges is unclear, it is the same because there is no experience. Like a pot and a blanket, how can it become the illuminated and the illuminator? It is not. In this way, clarity illuminates unclear pots, etc., but how is the object clear? Because the nature transfers to clarity. This is called: If it is not the clarity of an unclear nature, the object will also become unclear because it is matter. The nature of meaning itself is not clear. However, when the nature of meaning transfers to clear knowledge, this is called the object being clear. For example, just as the light of a lamp, etc., transfers to pots, etc., and becomes clear. If the image is transferred from clarity and the meaning becomes clear, then at that time, is clarity also made clear by transferring to other clarity? This is impossible. It is said: Clarity is also its thing, and it fully illuminates itself. This is called: The nature of knowledge itself is clear, and it is also its nature, and as a self-illuminating entity, it illuminates itself.

And, clarity does not depend on others. However, although the previous consciousness is the nature of clarity, the later consciousness makes the previous one the nature of clarity. Similarly, if it is said that when the previous consciousness is close to form, things also appear in the consciousness, then, here it is said: If you admit that consciousness is like that, then consciousness is self-aware of consciousness. It is established, otherwise things with the same nature, the object is also together with consciousness. It means that if you admit that consciousness itself is clear, then now for the unclear things to become clear from the transfer of consciousness, which of the consciousnesses that are the object of consciousness is the knowledge that is established by its own nature? If it is not like that, if consciousness is not clear, then in order to be illuminated by other things, the object also has the same nature as consciousness, so the object will also become the illuminator of consciousness. Therefore, things and knowledge are not established as different. Therefore, I think that consciousness is a bright entity, which is self-evident. Because other things are transferred here, what becomes clear is clear. It means that because for the knowledge held by other things, there is no difference between things and knowledge. We think it is the nature of clear consciousness, which is also self-manifesting, and other things are clear because the image is transferred from this consciousness, so it is clear. Isn't it that one consciousness wants to manifest itself, and the other wants to be manifested, because similarity arises? For example, like holding the image of a vase? Here it is said: Even if it is similar, it is another consciousness. This does not want to make it manifest, because it is self-manifesting. The nature of that thing will become clear. It means that even if the later consciousness becomes similar to the previous consciousness, that other consciousness, the previous consciousness, the later consciousness does not want to make it manifest through similarity, because the previous consciousness itself is self-evident, and unclear things will become clear, wanting to become the agent. For the agent, it does not depend on others only through similar dharma. If things become clear from similar cognition, how do things become clear? Things are self-nature, that is, they become clear through the nature of clarity. It is not experienced by other things. Because both consciousnesses are self-evident, they are not things to be manifested and things to be manifested.
