Even if there is an image, it is not through knowing that the mind can understand. If it is said that the meaning is known, then, at that time, knowing will also be realized, and when the meaning is known, the meaning will also be determined. Why is it said to know the meaning? Because the basis is the same. For example, like the name "white Dona," white itself is not different. However, if it is regarded as different from the meaning, then, at that time, the unseen, in the seeing of others, there is no seeing. Thus it is said. If it is said that from the meaning of seeing, knowing is different and there is no realization, then, how can the nature of seeing be completely determined? However, even if knowing is hidden for the sake of seeing the meaning, is it also said to be seeing? That is not the case, because for any meaning, there is seeing and not seeing, those people are seen by others, but they themselves have not seen anywhere. If one also sees the meaning in the unseen, then one will see oneself, and others seeing will also make oneself see, because the difference in the meaning of seeing is the same. However, because the difference in meaning is different for each person, therefore, because one sees the difference in what one sees, one will understand that one sees oneself, and because one sees the difference in what others see, one will realize that others see. That difference, in the seeing of others, also exists, therefore one's own mind can be realized. Thus it is said, the difference in meaning, the clear nature, even if it is in the seeing of others, is it also because of that reason that one's own mind can be realized? If there is such a difference, even so, those will also become seeing because they are separated from self-awareness. Therefore, the self and others can be realized, because self-awareness will become self-seeing. However, self-seeing will also be seen by other knowing, at that time, for self-seeing there will also be other self-seeing, which will become endless. However, if seeing is only one in all times and places, then, in that case, because there is a difference seen by others, one's own mind will be realized. That does not depend on self-nature, there is not, only from the dharma nature of meaning, the mind is not a subsequent inference, from outside one's own mind, possessing self-nature.

Therefore, regarding the so-called "because," since things like the senses are not signs for inferring one's own mind, inferring one's own mind is not established without relying on one's own (self-nature) dharma, but only relies on the difference of the dharma of things. Because the dharma of the object is common to all people. Therefore, only one's own dharma can infer each person's mind. And that dharma is not anything other than one's own mind. If the mind is not manifest, then what can be inferred through inference? If it is said that the mind of happiness, etc., is a mind born from the same cause, it can be inferred because it belongs to one's own (self-nature) dharma. Then, someone might say: "If the cause of mind is manifest, That which is born from the same cause, What difference is there between it and mind? That which is born from another is also false." This is because whether it has the nature of seeing itself, or whether it becomes manifest happiness, etc., is the cause of the mind not being manifest. If it arises together with the mind, in the same way as causes such as the eyes, then in this case, what difference is there between that own dharma and the mind? Therefore, it has been shown that happiness, etc., and self-seeing are only self-awareness. Therefore, the mind with this nature is also self-awareness. But, if the mind is not manifest, then at that time, one's own dharma will also become non-manifest, how can inference be made? Or, one's own dharma is not born from the same cause as the mind, in this case, if one's own dharma born from a cause different from the mind is false. That which arises depending on other causes, the mind will not become non-false, because this is too extreme. Or, some dharmas produced by the mind are signs of the mind. In response to this, it is said: "The five objects such as form and the senses, And the objects of focus, If those are not realized, Cannot indicate the other fruit." That is to say, the five objects such as form, and the senses such as the eye sense, and the objects focused on form, etc., for that mind that has not realized these, the other fruit is not the object of focus.
