If knowledge shows itself in a two-fold manner with respect to the meaning of "being," how is that? For the Mind-Only school, it is not reasonable to rely on "being." Answer: The wise have these statements, because of experiencing together, this two-fold manner is established. For those who speak of consciousness-only, these statements are for the wise, relying on external objects, because after acknowledging external objects, one can say that the mind is two-fold. This two-fold manner is also established on external objects, because it is certain that it is experienced together, because it is certain that it is directed together. It is shown that certainty of experience is not possible for different things. If knowledge has no form, then it will always be pure, and not the nature of clear, unclear, and intermediate states, etc., therefore knowledge also appears as distinctions such as clear and unclear. For example: Knowledge, through the distinctions of the functioning of the senses, appears as clear, unclear, intermediate, etc., and it is seen to rely on one object with different appearances. Because of the characteristics of the changes in the senses, knowledge appears as different appearances such as clear and unclear, and holds onto the same object. Then, how can knowledge become many forms on one object? However, the object itself has distinctions such as clear and unclear, so it has various natures, not the nature of knowledge. Answer: That is not so. If the knowledge that arises from the object is that appearance, that is, has the appearance of the object, then at that time all minds with that object will have the same object, and will become the same nature. It will not appear as various appearances such as clear and unclear, because the nature of the external object is the same. The various forms are because each person points to different forms, therefore it is each person's consciousness. However, how does knowledge with the form of an object become various forms? Because the nature of the object is the same, knowledge will also become one form of the object. Therefore, the clear and unclear

It is said that there is no difference, it is the same nature. Here it says: Depending on the meaning, it arises, following its nature, it is different from others by some parts. It means that the knowledge arising from the power of meaning, although following the nature of meaning, has the appearance of meaning, and is different from other manifestations and non-manifestations by some parts, such as different roots, but not by all self-natures. For example, for a person with cataracts, the appearance of two moons will appear. So, if they are similar, how can they be different from others? It is not like that. Just like this: depending on the father, there is a son, the image of the father, with some parts to some, will appear different. It means that the son born depending on the father, with some parts similar to the father's image, and some parts inconsistent with the mother's image, will appear different with the father's image. Similarly, the knowledge with the appearance of meaning also has differences such as manifestation and non-manifestation due to the differences of eyes and so on. Or, the knowledge produced by different roots will have differences such as manifestation and non-manifestation, so, is the nature with blue and so on the Dharma of meaning? The answer is: lamps and other wheels, with the appearance of peacock feathers, blue and red and other manifestations, are seen because the eyes are not clear. It means that for people whose eyes are impaired by cataracts and other things, and whose eyes are not clear, at the top of the lamp, the appearance of the wheel will appear, blue and red and so on, and seeing the appearance of peacock feathers is also the nature of knowledge. Therefore, from different roots, there will be different appearances with blue and so on. Or, the wheel of the lamp is a real object manifestation, but it is not the nature of knowledge. If so, then: if it is an external object, what is the use of clear roots? It means that if the wheel of the lamp and so on is the nature of the external object, then, for a person with clear eyes, why is there no ability, why does it not appear? Or, for a person with cataracts,
