Because blue and other appearances are different, the category that does not possess them is not the meaning. That category is also not impermanent, and if it were permanent, how could it be a producer? It is said. Grasping the past and so on is because it appears as blue and shape and so on. Not possessing that, that is, the meaning of the category that is separated from the nature of blue and so on, is not what becomes an object. Furthermore, that category is the cause of knowledge, and if it is not permanent, it will not become a category itself. However, even if it is permanent, it has been shown that it is not a producer. The meaning is that the object of grasping the past and so on is not a category, so what is it? If it is said that it is aimed at the non-name and non-reasoning formation at that time, then it is said: Names and so on have already been blocked before, this is not a meaningful sequence. Because it is only a desire-following nature, the function of meaning is not established. It is said. The object to be grasped by grasping the past has already been blocked as not being a name for a reason, so it is not mentioned here. This is not a meaningful sequence of knowledge, because it is born only from desire. Those are also unreasonable. However, if it is thought that the knowledge of the past and so on is related to meaning, then it is not so. Because the knowledge of the past and so on is related to only desire, the function of meaning is not established there. However, even though the knowledge of desire and so on has the aspect of an object, the experience is without aspect. He said: When such knowledge is remembered, it also arises when there is experience. It is also empty of the aspect of meaning, how can it become possessed of it? It is said. Such knowledge of grasping the past is memory, and that memory also arises from experience, and that experience is also devoid of the aspect of meaning, that is, the memory that arises from that experience without aspect, if that is meaningless, then it is possessed of blue and so on, that is, how can it become possessed of the aspect of blue and so on, it is not so. For example, the memory of a vase that arises from seeing a vase without the appearance of cloth is separated from the appearance of cloth, and similarly, the cloth that arises from seeing cloth without a vase
