Oneself. (Oneself) clinging to oneself there, as an agent, appears as if co-present with the agent on one's own actions. Although oneself is not the agent, it is because it establishes it as its own self. As it is said, the consciousness that clings to the self of that which has the aspect of meaning, through the agency of the self of understanding meaning, appears as if co-present with the agent on its own actions such as blue. It is because of the power of that aspect that it is established separately in that which is determined in meaning. In the ultimate truth, consciousness itself is not the agent, because consciousness and aspect are not different. Although the thought of knowing blue does not depend on another agent of blue, if it is known that the agent resides in it, saying, "I know this," because of such determination. If asked, does consciousness not contradict the nature of action, agent, and actor by the power of knowing? The experience without distinction appears as the consciousness of the nature of blue, therefore, in the aspect of blue and so on, there is no other consciousness. If consciousness itself appears as the aspect of meaning, then is meaning not produced by consciousness? Therefore, meaning will become the agent in consciousness, but consciousness is not the agent in meaning, how does consciousness hold meaning? Answer: For example, the phenomena of cause and effect, because they arise with similar self-nature, although they do not have action, the world says that the cause holds form. As it is said, for example, in the world, because the fruit and the cause, parents, arise in a similar way, although there is no action of holding, it is said to hold form. Likewise, although consciousness does not have the agency of the aspect of meaning, because the term of holding is established, the aspect of meaning itself is the establisher. Therefore, seeing and root connection, and those of the wisdom of distinction, because they are determined in action, are not accepted as valid measures. As it is said, the consciousness that can create, is accepted as a valid measure by the thinker who completely cuts off the types, and the consciousness that can create the connection with the root is not mind, and the wisdom of distinction is also accepted as a valid measure for the consciousness of distinctions such as dust. Why do they, in the establisher, other actions and

Because that result is not established, it is not a valid cognition from the perspective of reasoning. Why? Because it is definite with respect to the action, that is, the arising of realization, etc. The aspect itself is the definite cognition of things, not from other sources. Therefore, the aspect itself is a valid cognition. Then, are the senses, etc., not able to know things? Why do they generate discrimination? It is said: For actions, the agents, all provide assistance, but which agent is different? That is considered the supreme accomplisher. That is, for actions, the accomplisher is supreme. All the agents, such as the senses, are actions, that is, they provide assistance to realization, but which agent differentiates through the self-difference of that action? That is considered the supreme accomplisher, not just the action of the agent. Or, do the senses, etc., differentiate knowledge through their own differences, just as through different senses, different experiences arise with respect to the clarity or lack thereof of what is seen, etc.? Here it is answered: Because of the common cause of all, the senses do not have such differences. Even if they are different, there is no difference. That comes from this, and where does this come from? That is, because of the common cause for seeing all things such as blue and yellow, although the senses can generate differences such as clarity or lack thereof, they do not have such differences that generate the individual differences of things. Or, the senses will become different things, such as the sense that appears as blue and the sense that appears as yellow, etc., for different things, that and that will appear, therefore, because of the difference of dharmas (things), the senses are different. Is it only because of the difference of the senses that knowledge will be different? That is not so. Even if the senses are different because of the difference of the dharmas (things) that appear, but for what? There is no difference, that is, this sense that is separate from the aspect, appearing as blue and yellow, etc., where does this come from? It is not so. If there is no aspect of blue, etc., it will not be known that the sense appears as the object of blue. Or, if the realization of blue, etc., exists beforehand, then appearing
