Is the cause. The object of sensory cognition, if analyzed here, then what is the state of mind? If the eye sees the true moon, and then two moons appear in the mind, because it is transmitted, the cause of the mind is the eye, but it is not obviously produced from the mind faculty. Here it is said, analyzing the object of sensory cognition, what is the object of sensory cognition? From what does sensory cognition arise, does it arise with its image, or in another way? If the outsider needs to answer, then, it itself is not the object, because it is impossible, because the atoms do not have dependence, and cognition is a coarse image. Or, what is the cause of cognition that is not its image, is that the object? That is also not possible, just like the senses, even if it is the cause of cognition of other images, it is not the object. Therefore, if according to the Sautrāntika's view, the words such as the atoms of the eye itself, etc., will not show the object of the senses to others. Therefore, this is not suitable to be analyzed by the mind, because there is no object of the mind, so its object should not be analyzed. If the sense is one, the existence or non-existence of the sense has a correlation, if that is the same and changes, then, why should this be prevented? If seeing two moons is not real, then, what is that cognition arising from the senses? Or, the cognition related to the existence or non-existence of the senses, if the sense exists, it exists, if the sense does not exist, it does not arise, that is produced from the senses. Then, that changes with the existence or non-existence of the senses, and seeing two moons is the same, so it will be produced from the senses. Or, if something becomes a sense, then the changing cognition is produced from the senses. If that is the case, why prevent the change of the senses and the obvious phenomenon, is it the sense itself that produces it? For example, because the eye is damaged by cataracts, a confused cognition of the moon arises, therefore the sense itself is.
