It is the change of the individual. Therefore, if it is said that this is not with form, then in response to this: Manifest and memory have form, what mind is here other than experience? This is to say, if one abandons the awareness that has the form of manifest and the form of memory, then what other mind is there inside here? If it is said that the mind is manifest clinging, and awareness is experience, then, are clinging and awareness just different names? Different names, the meaning is different, isn't this because it is too much? If it is said that the mind is the nature of understanding the form of meaning, and the awareness without form is the nature of mind, then, that is not right, because without form, awareness has no measure. If it is said that if there is no different awareness, then, the experience of happiness etc. will become non-existent, because it is the nature of awareness, therefore experiencing happiness etc. Isn't the function of other minds meaningless? If it is said that it is the experience of the nature of happiness, then, isn't the name different? Different names, can one understand the experience different from happiness etc.? Here it is said: The meaning is taken that and that after, happiness, suffering etc. awareness, only clearly will be seen, in between others are not seen. This is to say, relying on taking the meaning of wanting and not wanting after, the awareness of the nature of happiness and suffering etc., only clearly arising will be seen, from the form of happiness etc., understanding the nature is in the middle, the form of happiness and the form of meaning are not seen inside. There, if one experiences long and short etc. at the same time, then, how does one say that the name of wanting is happiness, suffering and ignorance? In order to show the excellent situation, it is said to be different, just like saying seed and seedling. Therefore, different names are not different. If it is said that it is mixed so there is no difference, like iron and fire. Difference and no difference on all things will disappear. This is to say, if the mind and awareness are very mixed.

If, knowing there is no directness, like an iron ball and fire, if one understands only the meaning of the metaphor in this way, then all things will become without difference and without non-difference, because one will know pillars and so on as having the same nature, because of doubt of confusion, it is not certain to be the same, and, if the same nature is not established, then the establishment of the nature of their aggregation as difference will also become non-existent for all things. If you ask, even if it is not certain to be the same due to confusion, will it not be established to establish all things as different? Answer: The verse says, "If the experience of non-difference is one, then the different that is not so is different, if this with is established and this is not established, the establishment of difference is not accomplished." It means that if there is an experience of something without difference, then that thing is unique, if something is not experienced as without difference, then that thing is established as having difference, because if this non-different knowledge does not establish uniqueness, then it cannot be used as a reason for establishing difference, because difference is the nature of the aggregation of non-difference. These are established in the place of "if there is no non-difference, then there is no difference." Because the doctrine of Samkhya has also shown that there is no establishment of directness and non-difference. The verse says, "White and happiness and so on appear different, the experience of non-difference is different, the appearance of non-difference is different, what does difference and non-difference depend on?" It means that for happiness and so on and white and so on that appear to be different, it is non-difference, and if it is known by consciousness, if it also appears to be without difference, it also becomes different, then, what is the cause of difference and non-difference? Therefore, in the view of Samkhya, there will be no establishment of difference and non-difference. If you ask, then, how can the mental events such as feeling and cognition of Buddhism, even if they are not seen as different from each other and from consciousness, be considered different, so that the consciousness and awareness of Samkhya, even if they do not understand that they are different, will become different? Answer: The verse says, "Clarity and obscuration are a few, because of seeing difference, mental events, the continuum of consciousness itself, the establishment of difference is established." It means that mental events are from consciousness.
