If one cultivates the mind with inappropriate attention, it is supremely excellent. If such faults that arise are not even prevented during empowerment, then how can these be liberated in this life and the next? If one sees selflessness, then what will be liberated? When beings are destroyed by faults such as desire, at what time will they not be purified by anything? At that time, they will be liberated. In this way, the cessation of bondage is liberation. For selflessness, what is bound? Therefore, it will not be liberated. If one obtains another liberation through impermanence, that is not correct. Because there is no other nirvana apart from what is purified. Then, is it not establishing the term "brightness of a lamp"? That is not correct. Merely attaching words to the aspect of Buddhahood is not reasonable, because what is not bound will be liberated, and this is also proven through analogy. For those who assert a self, bondage and liberation are not reasonable. Merely proving through attaching words is meaningless, because the entity of the subject is not reasonable. The example of my nirvana does not exist, therefore it is said: Because permanence has no dependence, gradual arising is not contradictory. The agent and non-agent at all times are of the same nature. Like this, if the states are different, then my liberation itself, existing in an impure state, will become pure, and gradual arising of happiness etc. will contradict permanence. It has already been explained that my permanence, because it has no dependence, will entail that states such as happiness etc. exist simultaneously. Furthermore, it also contradicts the agent of action. Why? Because the states of agent and non-agent are of the same nature. It has already been explained. Cause and effect are also one. If they are different from this, then the agent and enjoyer will disappear, and the ability itself will not be accomplished. Like this, if the states and the person become its nature, then the cause, previous karma, and the effect, happiness etc., will become one, because my nature is one, it is my nature. This is also contradictory. However, if they are different, then:
