Ro. If it is said that attachment and so on are also like that, here it is said: The term of experience, the quality of self, The basis of all is changeability, How is it desired in attachment? The nature of attachment is not like that. This means that all the terms that follow experience like the sky are false, and the qualities such as wisdom are also false. So, how do you desire attachment as the basis of such a self? Because the nature of attachment is not like that? Even if it exists, it should be shown that one should not be preconceived to distinguish, so it is okay to pursue samsara. If it is said that because the happiness of samsara is completely pleasing, one should not abandon it, then isn't the happiness of nirvana also completely pleasing? If you pursue the happiness of nirvana, then even if all happiness is complete, you will want happiness beyond it, and you will want the previous happiness again and again, so it is not that you don't want it. Wanting and pursuing is also craving, which is suffering for the great beings. All these pleasures only produce joy, so those who have pleasure will not enter nirvana. Because all pleasures are desired in various ways, therefore, because of the craving for pleasure and other reasons, one stays in this cycle of reincarnation. If it is said that one also sees those who are free from desire, that is not seeing, that is also because of the idea of happiness, because one is tired of seeking ways to happiness, so one will think of suffering, because one clearly tends to happiness and wants other ways, so one tends to be free from attachment, not not attached to me. If it is said that even if there is a view of self, one is not attached to mine, etc., here it is said: In every way grasping at self, Greatly dependent on attachment to self, Mine is the seed of attachment, That is established in due course. This means that here, the meaning here is that as long as there is obvious attachment to self, one will not be liberated because of attachment to self, for my

also exists by relying on benefits. However, self-grasping is to be abandoned, because faults are to be abandoned. Having abandoned it, one should enter, therefore, how will there be attachment to things that are mine, etc.? If self-grasping is abandoned, there will be none. Why avert faults? In reality, not seeking, one does not engage in even the slightest action, therefore, in all circumstances, if one is attached to self, then attachment to things that are mine will be especially dependent. The view of self is also the seed of attachment to things that are mine, and those who desire liberation abide in its state. Therefore, it is again samsara. However, if self-grasping is the seed of attachment, and things that are mine are also the seed of self-view, then even if that is the case, faults will be seen. Will one be separated from attachment because one also sees faults in my happiness? Here it is said: To be free from attachment to things that are mine, diligence also hinders because it relies on a portion of merit, and that obscures faults. It means that whoever has self-grasping, relying on a small portion of the merit that benefits the self, possessing attachment to things that are mine, is an obstacle to what is generated by striving to turn towards detachment. If one sees faults, will one be separated from attachment that possesses entry? No, the attachment to my happiness itself obscures faults by relying on a small portion of merit. Therefore, if there is clinging to self, one will definitely be attached to things that are mine as well. If one is also free from attachment to self, then, what is this freedom from attachment here? This is not abandonment, like self. Therefore, there is no point in meditating on suffering. It means, if one abandons self, can one abandon it? One cannot abandon it, because it does not abandon itself. Like this, one does not abandon as it exists, and it is not as it does not exist, it is not abandoning self, however, it is abandoning desire, etc. Therefore, by abandoning desire, one is always happy. Is not striving to abide in happiness a characteristic of holding onto desire itself? That also
