If one abandons it merely through the path itself, from what will existence arise? Because wisdom appears exceedingly excellently, the very first path exhausts all faults completely, therefore the path of seeing itself is the very nature of all paths! In the commentary on the Pramāṇavārttika, tenth chapter: Those views of the aggregates arising together that are transformed into the aspect of self, their nature is the mind that is merely close to it, because there is no thing that produces it, therefore it is not its mind. If one asks, is merely being close to it the cause? "May it become happy or suffering, the desire not to become, here the mind that says 'I,' is the co-emergent view of the aggregates. Some have not seen 'I,' thus they have no attachment to self, without attachment to self, they also do not run with the desire for happiness." This means that the thought of "I" that arises from beginningless habitual tendencies is the co-emergent view of the aggregates. The aspect of "May I be happy" or "May I not suffer" is the mind that says "I." Whose is it? It is the mind of the one who craves, that is, the one who desires happiness. This very mind is called the co-emergent view of the aggregates. If the co-emergent view of the aggregates is not abandoned, it will not disappear. Some have not seen "I," therefore they do not become attached to self, and if there is no attachment to self, they will not run manifestly with the desire for happiness. If someone has the attachment of the co-emergent view of the aggregates, how can there be no existence? Therefore, because there is the co-emergent view of the aggregates, it is not that one eliminates saṃsāra merely through the first path, but rather the co-emergent view of the aggregates remains to be abandoned through the path of meditation. This shows the aspect called peace. If there is a self, one is bound, and is that itself not liberation? Therefore, from the special feature of my being completely delighted, the self itself is separated from ignorance, and the very nature of delight is extraordinary liberation. If there is no self, saṃsāra and the liberation of the other shore are also merely others, and when anyone becomes delighted at the time of liberation, who will be delighted? Clinging to self

If it exists, wouldn't it become a flawed liberation? In response, it is said: The cause of suffering arising, from where does the permanence of bondage come? The cause of suffering not arising, from where does the permanence of liberation come? If the self is all-pervasive, then because it does not co-arise and cease, this self itself cannot produce suffering, just like space. If it is also autonomous and capable, then how would it produce suffering for the self? For something that destroys itself, a wise person should not pursue it. This is because ignorance brings suffering, and when ignorance disappears, if the self is seen, then isn't that liberation? Therefore, if it is said that because of ignorance one wanders in samsara, and awakening leads to liberation, then during samsara, if the nature of the self is not seen, how does it exist? Because it is invisible, wouldn't it disappear? Therefore, ignorance itself is the root of samsara, not the self. Or, the nature of the self is ignorance, and if it is not other, then how would the self not wander in samsara? If that is the case, then the self is always the nature of ignorance, therefore it will not be liberated, because it exists, and its nature cannot be eliminated. If ignorance disappears and a pure person exists, then samsara itself is completely different, and liberation is also completely different, therefore it will rely on the Buddhist view. Or, awakening is neither other than Brahman, nor non-other, nor completely non-existent, but appears in a reversed way, appearing like an illusion, this is ignorance. If that is the case, then ignorance becomes non-other than Brahman, because it does not exist, and Brahman is ultimately true. Therefore, if ignorance is not non-other than Brahman, then other things will be liberated. Then, how to enter the practice of liberation? If Brahman is always in a state of liberation, why enter it? Or, just like a face appearing reversed in a mirror, ignorance is Brahman appearing as other things. When ignorance disappears,
