It is not that various smokes arise only from the previous essence, because breathing arises only from the previous essence. Even with other conditions, thoughts such as anger do not arise. If so, then even if the breathing is the same, since external awakening is inevitable, will greed and the like inevitably change? The condition of awakening is also not inevitable, because the power of previous habits is the cause. Therefore, if breathing itself is not the simultaneous cause of that thought, then from breathing, knowledge will not arise even later. Previously, it was promised that the body is the cause of knowledge, and it was pointed out that the fault of breathing not necessarily changing, therefore it is shown that it is not inevitable. One arising has multiple meanings, and the holder is not satisfied by it. One wisdom understands multiple things, and itself also changes simultaneously. Because there is no contradiction, it will also not gradually change, because that has no difference. That is to say, even in situations such as slow breathing, in the time of one arising, multiple meanings are not held, but multiple wisdoms arise. Therefore, breathing is not necessarily a thought. Then how is it determined? Because knowledge itself is the inevitable cause of later knowledge from previous knowledge. Only one knowledge has the nature of clinging to multiple sequences. Then, will it not change into multiple wisdoms? Even so, if it is promised that one wisdom gradually holds multiple meanings, then the wisdom of mind will also simultaneously hold multiple meanings. However, if one wisdom does not hold multiple meanings simultaneously, then it will also not gradually hold multiple meanings, because the wisdom of mind has no difference from it. The intention here is that there is no other mind apart from forms such as color, just like a spotless mirror, the mind itself is one. Is that also combined with the image of things? If so, then apart from that, knowledge itself obtains appearance, and the image of things will arise. Because things have no proximity and extreme separation, everything will be recognized simultaneously. However, due to the extreme difference in habits, will the mind gradually recognize things?

Then, habit itself becomes the cause of holding the appearance of things, but life and so on are not. Consciousness exists like a mirror, without contradiction, so it will not simultaneously grasp things. However, if it does not have the ability to grasp things simultaneously, then it will not gradually grasp things either, because there is no difference. If it is said: life is many, momentary, and has times that are different from its own kind, the mind is the cause of those things, if this is realized. Then, life is not one, but many and gradually arising. That which does not exist at the same time as its own kind will become like that, it is sequential, that is its definition. Those lives are like that, they are destructible, realizing that those with sequence are the cause of the mind, therefore it will grasp things with sequence. The answer is: if there is no cause with sequence, how can those things have sequence? If it is said that the previous moment of its own kind is the cause, then the first life will not arise, because that cause does not exist. Even if it exists, it must be many. Life has different objects, therefore the mind arises simultaneously. If life is determined to be many and destructible, then those are not established in your tenets. Because they are cognized by valid cognition, therefore those are established for me, because sequence is not reasonable for a permanent single thing. Therefore, because the cause has sequence, the result also has sequence. If the mind itself has sequence, then even so, because there is no cause with sequence, how can it arise gradually? If it is thought that life and so on have sequence through the sequence of the causes of previous life and so on, then even so, if it is caused by the previous moment of its own kind, then the first life and so on will not arise, because there was no life of that kind before. If other births are admitted, then the cause of arising in the womb is the life of other worlds. If it is said that the four great elements of the parents are the cause, this is not reasonable, because it would follow that the four great elements of the child arise from the nature of the four great elements of the parents. Furthermore, the mind will also follow the parents, therefore, the cause of the first life
