Then, how are the so-called shape of a pot, etc., different at that time? Here it says: The shapes of pots, etc., Are distinguished by their commonality, Showing the difference in their abilities, This method also applies to others. The expression 'shape of a pot, etc.' indicates that the commonality of the pot, which distinguishes the target, such as the shape, etc., their respective abilities, especially the function of generating eye consciousness. Shapes, etc., have purposes such as fetching water, which is a definition. This method also applies to other collective nouns, such as flower fragrance. Similarly, flower fragrance is not an entity independent of the flower. Then, what does this mean? In order to distinguish different fragrances, it is called the fragrance of the flower itself. These three verses indicate that collective nouns do not have a common basis, and the words such as shape are different. Therefore, there are only parts, and there are no non-parts. If there is no whole, then are the parts the cause of consciousness? Here it says: Even if it is entirely the cause, It is not possible to lack a part. If each part has the ability, Then many will arise simultaneously. That is to say, there is temporarily no mind that is inseparable from the body, because all the minute particles will be considered intellect. Or, consciousness arises differently from the parts of the body, so the minute particles are the cause, but not the intellect, such as the eyes, etc. To this, it is answered: Are the parts of the body, gathered together like the eyes, etc., like sprouts? Or, like grass that does not burn, is each part the cause of consciousness? Furthermore, if all the parts are the cause of consciousness, then lacking one part, such as the hand, etc., will also lead to no consciousness, because they help each other, their function is to produce one result, and if one is missing, it will not arise. If the result arises without it, then it becomes without cause.

If it is said that limbs produce results without depending on each other, therefore, even if hands etc. are cut off, the aspect of consciousness will arise? If that is the case, then each one will be able to function, and if each one is able to function, then it will lead to the arising of many knowledges. For example, if each seed has many abilities, sprouts will arise. However, arising and inhaling are what cause production, and the limbs are merely helpers, because arising and inhaling are one. Even though the limbs are many, knowledge is one. If it is said that the result is not different because the causes of assistance are different, for example, even if the types of ropes are different, cloths etc. will not be different. To that, it is said: Because the majority itself is the same. Arising and inhaling are not done by it. Because arising and inhaling are also many, it is not definite. If all the limbs are the cause, then if one limb is missing, knowledge will not arise, and the ability of each will produce many simultaneously, like this, because arising and inhaling are also many, like the body. If it is said that arising and inhaling are one, therefore, only one knowledge will arise from one proximate cause. To this, it is said: Even if it is one, it will always be clear, because that cause is always near. If it is said that the majority is not the cause, then neither is the sequence, because there is no difference. Even if arising and inhaling are one, knowledge will always be clear, that is, it will arise, therefore, desire etc. will always arise, because the arising and inhaling of desire etc. are always near. If even with a cause, desire etc. do not arise, then it will not become possessed of a cause. If arising and inhaling are not the cause of many knowledges, then, because becoming cause and effect is definite. Because it is definite for things that are cause and effect, it cannot be argued. For example, just as one smoke arises from fire. To this, it is said: In that case, arising and inhaling are not the cause of many knowledges, and neither is the sequence the cause of many knowledges. Why? Because arising and inhaling etc. have no difference. Fire is
