The mind is a cause, but not the same, That which causes to abide and arise, The cause is other, therefore it is admitted. In this statement, the fault is not the same, why? Although the mind is the cause of the mind, why? For what reason is the name "abiding" a brief summary of a short time? The cause of arising, or ignorance, which is said to be other than the mind, is also admitted. Its meaning is this, for example, although a dream is connected to sleep, various images appear in sleep. Thus, although it is the same in sleep, some people see dreams because it is the cause of the awakening of habits. Because those dream consciousnesses are various, they see various things. Similarly, although consciousness is produced by the mind, it is done by the part of karma and habits, so sentient beings are different during their lifetime. The body damaged by faults is not the cause. Like a tree, etc. Like this and so on, the body damaged by the faults of phlegm and bile, etc., does not become the cause. For example, a tree contaminated by water, etc., cannot produce fire. If it is said that this leads to the fault of no return, is this not already eliminated? Here it is said, when damaged by the fault of death, It will be born again. In this sentence, if the corpse is cut off equally by the faults of epidemics and poisons, then because it will become a complete body later, it will become alive again. Like the faults of wind, etc., consciousness does not arise in the faulty body. When the corpse is free from faults, why does it not produce consciousness? For example, an eye damaged by cataracts does not cause color, but if it is free from cataracts, the eye can see. Here is the argument, यदि वह्निर्निवर्तेत । If the fire turns back, but the change of wood does not turn back, just like that. In this sentence, although the cause of the change of wood, fire, turns back, the change of wood, ash, made by fire does not return, so it is not admitted to be a thing of wood, just like that.

If it is said that for a dead body, the causes of the mind's transformation, such as epidemics, disappear, but the mind will not reverse. It is not so, because there are medical measures. Regarding this statement, it is illogical, because there are medical measures. This will explain as follows: Even if diseases such as wind subside, just as wood changes, at that time, even if the fire burns a little, the wood will not reverse, similarly, even if the damage caused by epidemics is very small, it will not reverse. Medical treatment is to eliminate the damage, or it is because of medical treatment that the subsidence of the damage can be seen. From the change of death to the slight change before, it cannot eliminate the death caused by disease. Therefore, the change of diseases such as wind will lead to reversal and non-reversal, why is this? Here it is said: Because some no longer appear, some produce changes, and some can be reversed, such as wood and gold encountering fire. Even if it is small at first, it will not reverse, after what kind of change can be reversed? That is what reappears, like the hardness of gold. The meaning of this passage is: For some things, no longer appearing will cause some changes, such as fire burning wood will produce ashes that no longer appear. And for some things, reversal will produce some changes, such as fire on gold will produce reappearing changes. Just as gold melts and then hardens again. Initially, even small wood, that is, burning a little, will not reverse, will not return to its original state. Just as burning a little wood with fire will not return to its original state, and the characteristic of slightly melting gold can be restored, because it will become gold, so what kind of change will now reappear, returning to its previous state? Like the hardness of gold. Therefore, the small changes caused by diseases such as epidemics can be reversed, so the great changes in the characteristics of death can also be reversed, and will happen again. Just like the change in the characteristics of the cessation of consciousness caused by sleep, if there is no sleep, it will be reversed. But the sleep of
