Those who hold onto such views are merely accustomed to their own desires. Merely conforming to the nature of earth, etc., does not entail adhering to the conduct of a father, etc. Therefore, beings are not born solely from the body. However, if one asserts that the birth of beings can arise solely from the body, arguing that from habit one can observe phenomena such as untamedness, and thus there is no fault in beings being born from the body because it avoids harm, then this is an overextension in completely adhering to birth. For, at the present time, one would not become accustomed to untamedness, etc., and therefore, all things of cause and effect would vanish. Thus, whatever is a quality of the result is not without a cause. If one further argues that in the past, during childhood, apart from untamedness, etc., one can still see phenomena related to habits such as untamedness, etc., just as smoke can arise from smoke and also from fire; similarly, rice can arise from rice itself and sometimes from cow dung; a drawing can be made by an artist, and also appear on a bird's wing without an artist; likewise, isn't it possible to see eye movements, etc., apart from habit? This is not reasonable, because just as the form of smoke produced by smoke is not produced by fire, the smoke produced by fire is continuous, while the smoke produced by smoke is understood to perish and cease in each moment. This is similar to how, in childhood, without habit, movements, etc., arise from habit; know that movements, etc., are also like this. Therefore, prior habituation to one's own kind is a prerequisite. Otherwise, it would be an overextension, for if arising and ceasing, etc., arise solely from the body, then breathing would also arise from its qualities, etc., because there is no difference in arising itself. Therefore, the entire earth would become the nature of beings. However, if one argues that the very distinction of complete transformation gives rise to beings, then that distinction of complete transformation also comes from another distinction of complete transformation, and thus to another complete transformation

Otherwise, it will become limitless. If it becomes completely like that, is it visible or invisible? If it is visible, then it does not exist, because it is invisible. If it is invisible, then how do you know it exists? There is no cause for anything to be completely transformed except for earth, water, fire, and wind. If becoming is only related to one's own close acquisition, then all places and times will become. If arising, abiding, etc., become the result, and the powerful ones, etc., enter another birth, if this can be established, then how can it be established to enter a future birth? If it is said that the eyes, etc., at the time of death are not the fruit of knowledge of other worlds, that is not true. Because: 'What is seen, what can connect, what does it change into, what is absent later, what connection, there is no connection.' For this statement, what is seen in the intermediate state when beings, etc., have the ability to connect in the past? Or, what is added to what existed before for beings, etc., entering other worlds? What cause is missing? Later, at the time of death, what separates from that added cause? Later, at the time of death, beings, etc., arising from other worlds, beings, etc., themselves are not connected, and that cause is missing. Because shaking, etc., come from the habit of not moving, from the characteristics of weakness, etc., weakness depends on the body, so isn't it that the previous birth is not established? Therefore, there is no initial birth, the lineage is not established, and the absence of the initial itself does not exist. For example, smoke is produced by other smoke, and the continuity is cut off. Similarly, beings, etc., produced by the same kind will not universally enter. Beings, etc., are not without beginning. If it is said that the birth of beings that did not exist before is also because the previous continuity is cut off, then what is said here is that birth, etc., weakness, etc., are not by nature, but come from the habit of their own kind. Just as shaking, etc., come from habit, weakness, etc., also come from the habit of laziness. For example, the habit of sleeping causes the eyes to droop, but when awake, they do not.
