For the sake of manifestation, the excellent distinctions of the eye and so forth are produced from consciousness. Although there are many such changes, how can it be determined with certainty, since the entities existing in the eye and so forth are beyond manifestation? If it is said that because they are different, the results are also different, then it is said here: "Those without ability, each and every one, when excellence does not exist constantly, even if the collection exists, it becomes powerless; therefore, excellence arises." What is the reason for this? Because the eyes and so forth are without ability individually, the knowledge of the eyes and so forth does not necessarily arise from their individual natures, because the nature of understanding the appearance of objects is not seen. Even if the collection exists, it is constantly excellent; if it has not become a distinction, it becomes powerless, just like the individual states. Just as the senses are established through seeing, so too is excellence established in the eyes and so forth. The intention here is that just as the senses and so forth exist through seeing the result, so too is excellence determined through seeing the distinction of the result. Therefore, whatever is individually powerless, the collection can potentially produce qualities; these are the causes, but not Isvara (自在,Īśvara,Īśvara,Lord) and so forth, because there is no distinction. The term "and so forth" includes time and direction. In this way, it harms Isvara and shows that there is no valid cognition establishing function and so forth. Just as there is no cause or sign for the valid cognition of permanence, is it not the case that there is also none for the valid cognition of impermanence? Why? "Knowing the hidden meaning is valid cognition, because there is no proof for it; whether there is or is not an entering action, some people assert." Valid cognition is hidden; if all knowledge that transcends the senses is accepted, then that also becomes the reason for establishing knowledge that transcends the senses.

Because that kind of intellect does not exist. Some say that it is impossible to enter the realm of proving omniscience, because there is no reason for omniscience. Like this, it is impossible to ascertain the cause of unerringly knowing everything, because there is no definite object. If one aims at mantras and so forth, that is because it is common to all philosophical tenets, so it is not certain that that is the reason. There is no reason that definitely knows everything, because we have no definite object. It is not certain as direct perception, nor is it certain as experiencing in one direction, because it also exists in the Vedas and so forth. It is not the case that all knowable things will become manifest, because the realm of what arises and is suitable now is apprehended by the power of the eyes and so forth. Furthermore, if making all things manifest is omniscience, then one would also experience the taste of impure things and so forth, because it is also in the aspect of apprehending contact. How does one know everything with the senses? Or, if one knows everything with mental consciousness, then that also apprehends what is apprehended by sense consciousness, otherwise, the mind would become confused. The mind does not enter into what is apprehended by inference, because that is because the object and time are near. Mental consciousness does not enter into the realm of treatises, because it enters into meanings that are contrary to that. Is making all knowable things manifest gradual or simultaneous?

Why do some wise people use wise words to express themselves? It is to make people understand. Why? If ignorant words are used to express, people will doubt whether it is correct. Therefore, for those who have doubts in their minds, they should strive to pursue the truth. The meaning is that where you want to enter, you should strive to pursue wisdom, not wander in ignorance, because mistakes may occur in desire. However, for things that you want to fully understand, only reaching that level can become a measure. For example, the World Honored One is not a measure because he is omniscient, but because he does not deceive, he is a measure. His omniscience can be understood through inference, for example, the most important thing is to understand the interests of sentient beings, and to understand the things seen through measurement standards, in addition to which there are other things that need to be understood. If you don't even understand the most important things seen through measurement standards, then it is not a measurement standard. If Brahma and others come to teach, it is to teach from one confusion to another. So, how does the World Honored One infer through direct perception? Because he can reveal the most important things seen through measurement standards. If there is no direct perception, then the World Honored One will not deceive on the most important things seen through measurement standards, thus entering the realm of transcending the senses, etc., which is to put understanding first. In the Vedas, there is no measure to see the essence of things, and there is no non-deception for the most important things, therefore, it cannot be applied in all cases. Therefore, to enter it, we must analyze and study knowledge. What is the use of fully understanding the number of insects to me? As the scriptures say, no matter for what reason you enter it, you must seek full understanding, therefore, you must enter the realm of the Four Noble Truths of the Saints, and you must fully understand the relationship between karma and retribution, which are all worth asking the World Honored One, and fully understanding the number of insects, for the Tathagata, for us who pursue good destinies and liberation, is of no use at all. If you deceive on the most important things
