Therefore. However, just as mirrors and the like do not change, but images appear differently, so does the knowledge of the powerful one, without changing, grasp other objects? If so, then the knowable has no function of knowing, and it is known only by its own power. That may be so, but just as opening the eyes does not change, yet it grasps different objects in a suitable place, so does constant knowledge, without changing, grasp all knowables? That is not true, because the eye has the function of objects; without it, knowledge does not arise. The knowledge of the powerful one is also constant, so there is no turning back, as will be explained below. Therefore, what arises from it and its nature are impossible in constancy. Although the knowledge of the powerful one is impermanent, is the powerful one not permanent? Here it is said: Whatever knowledge arises sequentially is constant, because it should not arise from the powerful one, because it is not separate from the cause. This shows that if the cause is constant, then the result does not arise sequentially, because the cause is always present. Therefore, when the knowable arises from another, it does not experience sequence. That may be so, but does the knowledge of the powerful one arise when it meets with conditions? Therefore, the constant powerful one should not depend on anything, because there is no benefit to it. Is the cause of benefit acting for one purpose? If it is an additional cause, then the cause of acting for one purpose is not the cause of benefiting the object, because it already exists. Therefore, the action separate from it will become beneficial beforehand. However, even according to the second alternative, it is unreasonable to understand that the additional is different or not different, so it is not true. The additional is different or not different, will be explained below. Therefore, the constant one does not depend on anything, because the causes of benefit are separate from the two. That may be so, but the impermanent powerful one does not depend on conditions such as generosity

If it is said that the wisdom of self-nature, detachment from desire, and the perfection of power, etc., arise because they are born from the mere transformation of the preceding moment. To this, it is answered: Because there is no benefit in any way, even if it is impermanent, there is no valid cognition. Even if power is impermanent, it is not reasonable to be a valid cognition. Why? Because there is no benefit whatsoever. Because when one knows the benefit or harm through some cause, cultivation can show benefit to sentient beings through compassion from fully knowing the antidotes to desire, etc. When one knows it only by its own nature, how does it show the antidote to others? For example, one does not know the means of detachment from desire in one's own continuum, because its own nature is detachment from desire. Is it not for the sake of attaining detachment from desire by knowing the means of cultivation in other continua that one speaks to it? Although it is so, however, in that other continuum itself, while there is a valid cognition that fully knows the antidote to desire born from the power of cause, what can power do? If power speaks to that other continuum itself? Then, when power speaks to it, how does it know the antidote to desire, etc.? Furthermore, if it knows by focusing on the nature of liberation? Although it is so, however, because it has been transmitted from beginningless time as detachment from desire, the permanent is not a valid cognition, this is well said. Or, if there is no valid cognition that apprehends, then it is indeed the one without valid cognition. Its meaning is that because there is no valid cognition that establishes it, there is no benefit at any time, which is a reason with independence. Are not dwelling and entering, and the difference in shape, and function, etc., establishing power? Whatever dwells and dwells and enters, all of that is made by a cause with intelligence, like cutting with an axe, etc. Because if the axe, etc., enter by themselves, then they will enter constantly.
