it becomes without meeting. Afterwards, going and returning are certain, so there is no doubt that it becomes the nature of the producer and the produced. Otherwise, it would be said that the expression is cut off. Although it changes in this way, what is seen is not the appearance of the nature of encountering experience at the present time, because what is seen by oneself is not the certainty of holding other continuums from the blue, etc., which are made into objects. Therefore, how can the knowledge of touch, etc., become the measure of the object of form? If it is said that it has been shown to become a different object? This is also unreasonable, because in form and consciousness, etc., the expression of establishing them as one in that place is also because there is no difference in objects, etc. It is to cling to the manifestation as one, because it meets with what is seen. The encounter is because it enters into one continuum together with what was seen before, and because it enters into one meaning, it is a measure in relation to the manifestation of clinging, as shown. Is the one who makes the encounter not a measure? How does it do it with the knowledge of doing meaning? Or should it be promised not to do it. Among them, if it is like the second case, then at that time, apart from the knowledge of doing meaning, how does seeing produce it? If it is like the first case, then even so, when the object of seeing is focused on doing meaning, how does the knower of doing meaning know that they have met? Here it is said that if it comes from confusion, then there is no function of measure in the future, so there is doubt. But now, because the confusion is certain, it is the measure. Thus, what is seen is not the meaning that should be done to know confusion. How can one know that it is connected with other causes and does burning, etc.? If the method is certain, then it is also seen that doubt arises in those who are born from the method, such as crop rotation when farmers cultivate. Therefore, the fault of rotation does not arise, thus, for the meaning of establishing certainty, the first entrant may also be non-quantitative. Because of the absence of deception, it enters with the power of habituating what was taken before, because it is of that kind.

In the commentary on Pramāṇavārttika, Chapter Two: If it is said that the certainty of validity itself is entirely established by convention, then it would lead to mutual dependence. That is not the case, because some things are certain at the beginning without seeking all purposes, and are also non-deceptive. For example, some who feel cold approach fire, and there they examine the causal relationship of the nature of fire, such as burning. Similarly, just as one who goes towards fire knows this relationship, everything is determined by validity and enters accordingly. However, isn't the function of acting invariably following a non-deceptive nature at all times and in all ways? How is that to be understood? Because it only arises where non-deception is experienced, and elsewhere, such as in objects, there is no function of knowing, so how is it certain? Because where the function of acting is experienced, only burning and the like are experienced. Since the previous cognition is seen to have a function, how is non-deception understood? For example, that past cognition is not present at the time when inference is needed. When cognitions of form and touch arise simultaneously, they only recognize mutually distinct objects, so they are not determined as valid. However, the cognition of acting does not arise from signs, and the previous cognition is not recognized as valid by direct perception, because what was seen before has passed, and one does not recognize mature validity except for what is clearly proximate. What then? By experiencing burning and the like, doubt about validity is eliminated. If validity does not arise without meaning, is that also from itself? Here it is said that merely to dispel doubt, entering with prior cognition is not the case. What then? It is by direct perception and inference. If one enters only through direct perception, then it would be shown that validity is determined only through direct perception. Similarly, it must be understood without doubt through inference as well, otherwise, how would doubt be eliminated without certainty? If doubt is eliminated by performing the function of acting,
