Because that is the nature of self-realization. It is not possible for other brightness to be established when brightness itself is bright. If it is not so, it would become impermanent because it produces unprecedented effects. Since action and agent always exist, this is not a connection. Therefore, if one does not awaken from form, etc., and appears like form, etc., then the self will become clear. If the experience of realizing "I" is established for a moment, then the manifestation of the self as distinct from form, etc., is also the same. If it is said that it is conceptualization, or that such experience itself will become the root, then it should also be said here that if such realization becomes self-illuminating, since one does not realize that one possesses action, etc., it is only non-self. If brightness is the object of another thing, then what is called self-nature cannot be established. It is impossible for oneself to become such a nature as "I," because when a yogi directly sees the self of another, he would also fall into such realization. For a self-luminous thing, there is nothing to be illuminated, and brightness cannot be established. If that is the case, since the illuminator and the illuminated are established as different, it is not a dissimilar realization. Therefore, since action, etc., have no connection, one realizes that it is merely the appearance of the five aggregates. Therefore, since it does not transcend the nature of conceptualization, it is only non-perception. Alternatively, even if the promised self is not seen, it should be inferred, so for what does not want to be non-existent, since its promise itself is not a measure of non-seeing, it cannot be established even without reason. When this is said, the other's promised perception is closely arranged as a branch of the establishment of the fruit. For those who speak of perception, proving it with non-perception, it will become merely non-existent. Since this also establishes that it is not an object of inference, what is the point of saying again that it should be an object of inference? If, because of the inconsistent aspect, the object of the reason is completely reversed, it is only reasonable that it does not exist in that aspect.

I am not like that, therefore it is not non-existent. Like this, reason is also able to infer the inconsistent side, because inference arises when observed elsewhere. This has never been understood as the inconsistent side, therefore it is inference. If it is said that because I have inference, therefore even if it is not obvious, it should not be non-existent, that is not right. Because even wanting to infer me, one does not deny the absence of inference. Even if there is no inference, what is wrong if it exists? Like this, those who claim to have self do not want self, because they do not deny the absence of valid cognition. Although it can be understood as that which resembles valid cognition, some also consider it to be established by scripture. Therefore, refuting inference is meaningless. Even if it has been refuted, it is because one admits the existence of self. Even if it has not been refuted, it is established by inference itself because it is different from having reason on the inconsistent side. Therefore, if it is said that this should be stated, then because what should be stated is true, that is what is stated. The necessity of saying "Those who make non-apprehension a valid cognition also change because there is no basis" is this: If non-apprehension is a valid cognition, then the inference that the self-claimers control the opponent and thereby establish the self will become baseless, because the basis will not be established. The way the self-claimers establish the self, merely stating the three modes has no nature whatsoever. When one admits that whatever is not apprehended does not exist, then because the self does not exist like a rabbit's horn, it cannot be made the subject. Whatever establishes the subject, the body together with the self, also eliminates the fault of the পক্ষ (pakṣa, thesis) because the dharma to be established is harmed by valid cognition. Therefore, if non-apprehension is the valid cognition of direct perception and is eliminated by direct perception, and if it is inference, then it is eliminated by inference. Therefore, the self-claimers are without basis, because there is no পক্ষ (pakṣa, thesis) for establishing it. If that is the case, inference of fire and so on
