It is called "only that." That which is pervaded by only that is pervasive. Here too, as before, there are three ways of necessarily grasping, among which the intention is to eliminate association with others. For if the pervasive is abandoned and exists elsewhere, then the understanding gained from it cannot be relied upon, and therefore it will not become an inference; if it exists only in that, then it will lead to reversal. If it exists there as in others? Even if it exists, precisely because of that, when it exists, it will lead to doubt that both it and non-it exist. If the pervasive exists in both, how can there be no doubt? Because when it exists, it will be determined separately, as has been said. Because it is only by not existing elsewhere that it can be understood, it is not contradictory for the non-pervaded to exist, therefore, the statement that only the pervaded exists in the disease is neither a limb nor a comprehender. The statement that only the pervaded exists when it is certain that the pervasive exists is also meaningless, because without it, it cannot be understood, and if it is understood, there will be no error. Even if it is not certain, because there is a comprehender, it will also lead to obstructing the suitability of the object of reason, for example, like being born from effort. For impermanence, there is also the opposite of this. Furthermore, how can it be that if unrelatedness is eliminated here, it will lead to being a non-reason when it exists on one side of the similar class? The pervasive is also not. There, if the association with others is eliminated, it will change, but this is not, because it is not obstructing the similarity. Because these two are not unreasonable. If the unrelatedness of the pervasive is eliminated when the pervaded exists, then it will not become unrelated to it. Thus, if the unrelatedness of the pervasive is eliminated, it is not a fault, but the pervaded is. Therefore, if the pervasive and the pervaded exist, then the word "exists" explains the concomitance, and the word "the pervaded exists only in the pervasive" explains the contradiction, therefore, the three modes themselves are suitable as reasons. Therefore, its part, called pervasiveness, refers to concomitance and contradiction.

For example, in the manner of a definite measure, existence and non-existence in concordant and discordant classes are as stated. Here, it is not the case that the three aspects of reason are stated as merely existing in the objects of pervasion and the nature of the subject, because the three aspects of knowledge themselves are the dharma of the sign. Here, since knowledge is not mentioned in the definition, there is doubt as to how it will be understood. Therefore, it is merely stated, "By this." Second fascicle: By stating the dharma of the subject and the concomitance and counter-concomitance, this also states the concomitance and counter-concomitance, and also states the ascertainment of the dharma of the subject. The concomitance and counter-concomitance of the means of ascertainment itself are shown separately from the nature of the subject. Here, it is not the meaning that "concomitance and counter-concomitance are also stated." Where the understanding of another also becomes the result of understanding another, it is reasonable to state it in this way. However, if one states only one thing, and then states it again in this way, it will not be meaningful. If one understands the pervasion, is it also for the purpose of stating it? No, because by "pervasion is," etc., just as the nature of this is stated, so it is for the sake of understanding those. If there is also another understanding in the nature of the subject, what would be stated as "the dharma of the subject is also stated"? Therefore, even if ascertainment is not mentioned, what is shown is the statement of ascertainment itself, and this is the meaning that is closely presented. Here, if one asks what kind of ascertainment it is, then because the three aspects are collected in that which has it, it is stated that "those are." The dharma of the subject and its pervasion, those are the three reasons characterized by effect, nature, and non-apprehension. When the three signs that are spoken of are shown by examples, the statement of how the three, such as effect, are like this and this, is from "for example" to "is stated." Therefore, following the order of what is spoken, first the effect is closely presented, the second is the nature, and the last is the non-apprehension. The statement of the reason and the probandum is the nature of cause and effect.
