No. The difference of not seeing what is worth seeing, etc., and just not seeing, is easy to apply to this as well. Therefore, it is not reasonable here to have the characteristic of not seeing in the absence that proves the opposite. Therefore, if it harms it, it will only become a refutation of its own nature, because it harms the non-object, so it is not reliable for everything. Harming what arises from cataracts, etc., is not harming direct perception, because harming others does not contradict others. No one who is not a child says that direct perception is a valid cognition simply because there is no harm. However, it is because it has infallibility. Therefore, it is established that its object is itself, so direct perception becomes a valid cognition, which has already been explained elsewhere. If, for the object of inference, one also sees contradictions with direct perception and inference, because it is the nature of understanding the meaning that is contrary to those objects. Therefore, it has become a fault of being seen as unreliable. For example, the inference 'it is blue, because it is its son' is harmed by direct perception; the inference 'because it is made, it is impermanent' is harmed by the inference 'it is permanent, because it is audible, like sound itself.' Therefore, inference is also not a valid cognition. Therefore, just because there is no harm, that which is not a valid cognition exists, it should be considered a valid cognition, so there is no difference for seeing either, if you say so. To refute this, it is said 'no'. It is not the case that there is contradiction with direct perception and inference for the object of inference. As it is said, like a vase, it refers to what arises from relying on connection and analyzing the nature of things. Those harms are because they are not produced in that way, so it is not inference itself that is harming. That explanation is 'if it exists'. Where it exists, that possessor, also because of the occasion, is only contradictory to direct perception and inference, so it will be said to have existence that contradicts direct perception and inference. That is

Because it is beyond the definition of inference. Inference is not a realization produced by the power of things themselves, but for the sake of realization, this realization relies on the reason for the existence of things. Because inference of self-nature without difference from this may be harmed, so because there is such a reason, for the inference of other things, whatever inference does not have the reason for the existence of things. For the realization produced by the thing itself, this is possible. There, that which is not harmful is not valid cognition, which has been said elsewhere. If it is impossible to harm the object of inference, then Master Dignāga (ཕྱོགས་ཀྱི་གླང་པོ།) would not say words without contradiction and error. In order to eliminate this doubt, saying that not expressing without contradiction and error is what is desired, because the teacher did not express the object of inference. Then what should be expressed? The answer is, its object should be revealed. In order to add other reasons to what needs to be proved at the moment, so it is said "other". Because of the reason of not seeing, the touch that is neither cold nor hot does not match seeing, because preventing matching will become without error. The valid cognition of the characteristic of not seeing is the touch that is neither cold nor hot, which does not match what has been realized, which will become without contradiction, that is the meaning. If so, then this will be related to the scripture being discussed. In order to explain this sutra, the teacher said "if" in order to explain the meaning of the scripture he taught. What the teacher said, "should not be refuted" is like this. By revealing the very nature of the refutation, it also reveals the teacher's other scriptures, that is, "if one refutes not seeing etc. just because one has not seen, then it is also unreasonable to refute just because one has not seen." How can refutation be unreasonable? It is clearly reasonable, that is the meaning. How can this be? The answer is, it is said "non-apprehension". Because the other party has already established the basis of cold and warm touch etc., so for that
