It has already been said that one should follow the clear understanding that "it is impossible for the present to exist." Here, the opponent argues that if one realizes that non-existence is non-existence, then what distinguishes this, because there is no difference seen, it will also distinguish others, which is not possessed of the result of eliminating the opposite. That is not reasonable, because it is harmed by other valid cognitions. The explanation of this doubt is the word "if." The word "if" is the word "if." By the word "distinguishing the two," the object of the word "other valid cognition" is explained. If the other valid cognition harms, what is it? The answer is, it exists. What is the other valid cognition that harms? The answer is, it is said, "those who have the nature of mutually distinguishing." Which ones have the nature of mutually distinguishing? That is, permanence itself is the nature of distinguishing impermanence, and impermanence is also the nature of distinguishing permanence. Even if these also have the nature of being the nature of the characteristic of exclusion and inclusion, even so, it is said that they are different from blue and yellow, etc., by the very nature of mutual distinction. Blue is excluded from yellow, but merely by negating blue, its essence does not become yellow, because by negating it, it also becomes white. Whatever is negated, whatever is not grasped, is only those. In order to show such a difference, it is established as having the nature of mutual negation. If a thing is devoid of the characteristic of exclusion, it is necessarily the characteristic of inclusion. That is the nature of existence, and because it does not perish immediately after arising, it is admitted that it abides in that nature. Similarly, because it does not abide in its own nature, it will be admitted to be the characteristic of exclusion. Therefore, such meanings are those that establish one by distinguishing the other. This is not merely negating non-existence, whether blue is permanent or impermanent, it will not be complete unless another thing is established, and after negating that, one can understand permanence or impermanence.

Because it has been said as before. The so-called "not refuting" is another way of saying it in terms of the situation. It is said like this: if one refutes "this is impermanent" and establishes permanence, then one cannot refute permanence here. Similarly, for the Dharma such as what should be heard, because it is not seen, if one returns from the non-existence of impermanence, because it exists itself, when eliminating the permanence of the non-existence of impermanence, one will know impermanence itself, but one cannot know that it does not exist either. Because impermanence itself does not exist, from existence itself, impermanence itself is permanent, because at that time it cannot be refuted. Therefore, what should be heard itself does not exist in the non-existence of impermanence, because it exists itself, when preventing permanence, impermanence itself will be established, because that is the Dharma nature of things. Because permanence does not exist, because it exists itself, when eliminating impermanence, permanence will be established, therefore one will know the place of a Dharma exists and does not exist. What is said is that establishment and refutation are contradictory. Therefore, even if this does not exist in non-existence, but permanence and impermanence cannot not exist in one thing, therefore, if one distinguishes by its own existence, then one cannot know that non-existence, if one says so, then in order to eliminate this statement, one said "now". If what should be heard itself has not seen permanence and impermanence, but because it will become the fault of distinguishing, so it is not non-existent in non-existence. If so, then because there exists a harm that is impossible for things outside of both, so it is said. Then, because it harms not seeing, so it does not exist from not seeing. It is said like this: if one does not prevent the establishment of not seeing, then the impossibility of things outside of both will not harm the distinction, but will harm the establishment of not seeing itself. For that which does not harm, because of the reason said before, it cannot refute the distinction itself that it approaches. Therefore, the measure of harm is not seeing itself.
