If it is said that it is like change, then those are also. Loving-kindness and compassion, etc., also arise from familiarizing oneself with similar types, and arise from repeatedly generating the mind of loving-kindness, etc., and are not dependent on desire. It is not that one enters naturally on one's own, but rather that it must be accomplished through effort, that is the meaning. Desire is to view as self, because it is the nature of clinging to self. If it is dependent on that, then like desire, etc., because one enters naturally on one's own, it would become unreasonable to not rely on familiarizing oneself with similar types. If it is also said that desire, etc., are also not without sentient beings, Dharma, and objects of focus, then those would also change like compassion, etc. Like this, desire itself, through familiarization, will become selfless, and emptiness, through familiarization, will also become like that, therefore, even without clinging to self and the conceptualization of grasper and grasped, will it change? If asked in this way, the answer is that it will not change, which means that desire, etc., are like this. Desire, etc., are not like compassion, etc., that focus on Dharma or are without an object of focus, because if there is no inverted clinging to self, etc., there will be none. For the continuous nature of cause and effect, feelings, etc., if there is no seeing of self, then who will accomplish it, who will become attached or hate what is inconsistent with it, how will one enjoy the fruit that abides in one's own nature? If there is no one to enjoy its fruit, then for that object,

One is indifferent to one's own interests, but not to the interests of others, because one is compassionate. For him, there is nothing to be accepted. For the time being, it is not Dharma, because it is the abandonment that becomes ultimate. It is not sentient beings, because those are also to be abandoned. However, those also strive to generate indifference towards all the ultimate objects of their own nature. Benefiting those is also that itself. Because that itself is not the nature of arising compassion and attachment, and that itself is the result, because the one who abandons does not depend on the result, therefore the effort without result is not abandonment. For the sake of others, it is neither a result nor not a result, because the characteristic of a result is desire. If it is said that whatever has desire is a result, and it is indicated by the desire for a result, even so, wanting to speak, wanting to need, and effort as well, from all aspects, since no untrue fabrication is established, therefore saying is without fault, so it is said. In all respects, it is said like that. Fault is affliction, because it is the nature of creating faults, so in that way, from any aspect, it is not related to fault. Other than that, it is said that if, other than from untrue fabrication, saying that wanting to speak itself is endowed with fault, then there will be no displeasure at all. If it is established as being endowed with fault itself by being empty of the power of throwing existence, which is not the nature of creating fault, then there will be no displeasure at all. Even naming what is not a fault as a fault, because it will not become faulty, this is the conclusion. Therefore, in this way, it is clear that establishing wanting to speak itself as the ultimate of specialty by other valid cognitions is clear. Now, because wanting to speak based on things through cause and effect is established as being merely the cause, therefore inferring desire from words is unreasonable, although it is said like that, because the speaker is pervaded by seeing desire, therefore abandoning cause and effect, inferring desire from words

To infer, in order to welcome the doubts held by others and to answer, is the speaker, myself. Because greed and so on are seen in the speaker, myself, therefore, if words exist, then greed and so on also exist. If greed and so on are inferred from seeing words in others, then it would be too extreme. If blue lotuses and so on have words themselves, they can be seen, but those without minds do not have words and cannot be seen. All phenomena will be inferred in all speakers. Because of delusion, one cannot infer others from the words of others, because one is deluded about that. Here, is the answer. From similar reasoning, if there is delusion there, what certainty is there that it is not here? If it is said that delusion is seen in inferring other phenomena, but not seen here, that is also unreasonable. Even if it is not seen, doubt will not be eliminated, so uncertainty of doubt will arise, not commonality. To show that there is no certainty, the word "words" is spoken. "Words" are because the merits done by words, the things that can be done, and the desire to express themselves, can all be inferred. Because of the objects of cause and effect, there is no delusion there. For desire, because it is the opposite of this, there is no certainty that there is no delusion. If one wants to know that the desire to express itself is generally inferred, if one wants to infer, then is this nature not commonly inferred by greed and so on? Even if there is no greed, if one observes the cause of the words of wanting to express, which has other differences, then it will become like this. Therefore, even if there are words produced by a state of mind empty of greed and so on, even so, that mind is not free from greed, even if greed and so on have not arisen, because it is admitted that the minds of all beings are afflicted. Therefore, that which is capable of producing afflictions is called having afflictions. Therefore, merely wanting to express is the cause, affliction.
