In the meaning of absence of cold, aiming at the cause of fire, which is contrary to cold, is a confusion in that. If it is said, is it at all times? It is not so, as it is said, that is, if the causes and conditions are not contradictory. If the causes and conditions of fire and cold are not contradictory. Therefore, aiming at such contradictory causes and conditions is not a valid reason, but not a contradiction, as it is said. Why? Because the cause of fire can be achieved merely by proximity, the cause of contradiction is not meaningless by non-perception, just as the cause of the fruit, the cause does not place the fruit nearby. The cause of any contradiction, the contradiction is there, if the cause of contradiction prevents the cause, then the result will also be reversed. If there is no contradictory cause, then it is a confused nature. The confused nature, the sutra commentary shows it by example. Here, there is no cold touch, as it is, is what should be established. Because there is wood, as it is, is the establisher, aiming at the cause of contradiction. Merely having wood is not the reason for the absence of cold, if the causes of fire and cold are not contradictory, then it will become confused. If there is no contradiction in the causes and conditions, then there is no valid reason, generally speaking, if the causes and conditions are contradictory, then it shows that it will become a valid reason, that is, if the causes and conditions are contradictory. What is the cause and condition to be prevented, and the cause and condition that contradicts it, the contradictory nature of the cause and condition is placed nearby, if the two contradict each other, then it is only the knower. Where is it? As it is said, for example. In this man, there is no difference of hair standing up due to cold, etc. Why? Because of the difference of fire, the one who can prevent it, as it is said here, if he has it, then because of it. Contradiction, hair standing up and burning by fire, the cause of those, fire and cold, those two are also contradictory, therefore, with fire there is no cold, therefore, the result of that, hair standing up, etc., is not there. If this principle is prevented here in this way, then the two causes and conditions contradict each other, there is no need for proximity, but the cause of hair standing up, etc., the cold nature is not contradictory, that is, because of that, because there is no cold, therefore, it prevents the result of that. The nature of the cause and condition of fire is also the same, the meaning is that fire prevents the cold nature.

Because eliminating phenomena such as hair standing on end is not achieved by eliminating complete suffering. Even if it is eliminated in that way, the two reasons being contradictory are not parts, because complete suffering itself can eliminate the phenomena such as hair standing on end that are contrary to it. It is impossible to determine that there are no phenomena such as hair standing on end by understanding complete suffering from fire, because it is impossible to understand only from the cause, and it is impossible to understand the final state, and it is possible to be blessed by power, because the result cannot be achieved from the cause, so identifying the contradictory cause is not what makes it understandable. If the cause is contradictory, the contradiction of the cause will be determined, but it is not that the contradictory cause is not determined. If it is said there that saying "reasons" is an unreasonable statement, the answer is: identifying the contradictory cause and identifying the cause being contradictory, these two are explained by showing them in two different expressions, because the term is determined in both cases. The so-called "reason contrary to this" refers to the case where the contradictory cause is determined, and the fact that it is admitted by saying "if the reasons are contradictory", and in order to include this, this establishment contrary to it is also shown in the front by saying "only through the cause not being established" that the cause being contradictory is determined. The so-called "that" is to grasp the cause of the cause not being established mentioned earlier, so the establishment contrary to this will be close to showing that the cause being contradictory is determined. Precisely because of this, only by showing that the contradictory cause is determined, the cause of fire that is contrary to cold is stated. In order to recognize the cause of complete suffering itself that is contrary to phenomena such as hair standing on end, "reasons" are stated, and contrary to this, it is with the intention of approaching the determination of the contradictory cause. There is no obstacle to the arising of complete suffering from fire that is recognized. Because only the ability to burn can produce complete suffering. Precisely because of this, since it produces smoke, if that fire is not determined, then when it is recognized that the ability to produce complete suffering is unobstructed, then complete suffering is recognized. This will lead to understanding the result from the cause, because when the unobstructed ability is recognized from the smoke, the understanding of complete suffering will arise.
