Is it the reasoning that refutes cause and effect? Or is it the reasoning that refutes something that is neither cause nor effect, just as it is said, refuting other things in order to establish that there are no other things, that is its meaning. Because to refute difference, it is impossible except in this way. What is to be refuted is either relationship or non-relationship. Because relationship is also of two kinds, therefore three are shown. Among them, in order to fully grasp existence, therefore it is said that refuting non-existence, that is what is meant by "therein." "That" refers to neither of the two, if it does not exist, then the thing to be refuted will become non-existent, just as if neither cause nor effect does not exist, then cause and effect do not exist, thinking that this has no reasoning. Explaining that there is no reasoning itself is: neither of the two is because there is no relationship. Its relationship will become two kinds. That is the relationship to be refuted, or that relationship to be refuted. Among them, if that to be refuted is a relationship, merely by this, even if it does not exist, it cannot be established as non-existent. Refuting the relationship cannot establish refuting the place of the relationship, just as without the pervasive, it cannot be established that there is no pervader. Therefore, the relationship is what is to be refuted, and the place of the relationship is what is to be prevented. Therefore, saying that neither of the two is because there is no relationship, this is clearly wanting to say that, therein, what is to be refuted is non-relationship. Even so, it can only refute the relationship related to it. Its meaning is: if for neither of the two, what is to be refuted is a relationship, because it is dependent on it, merely by this reasoning, it can be established that if it does not exist, then it does not exist. If there is no relationship, then if it does not exist, then it does not exist, how could that be? Also considering the effect, it is said: "Even if the effect is not observed." Because the cause is necessarily not without the effect, therefore this is the reasoning. Because if the effect is not certain, the cause exists nearby, not changing, therefore, even if there is no effect, it cannot be established that there is no cause. Here, it is intended to say the special point.

Now, what is, is determined by the complete certainty of the scholars. Because, as it is said, if one is negated, the other will not fail to exist, therefore, only the non-apprehension of the cause makes one understand the non-existence in question, but not the result or both. Whatever is to be understood as the non-existence of the other by negating one, that is understood only by the non-apprehension of the cause, but not by others. Among these four kinds of non-apprehension, in some cases, negation is done by establishing or preventing other things, and in some cases, it is done directly. Therefore, by establishing the negation based on establishing and negating, non-apprehension itself is an establishment, because it is its distinction. Now, considering the case of direct prevention, self-nature and so on are mentioned. The word "ni" and the two that need to be ascertained, and non-existence, are only the non-apprehension of self-nature, and are related to the non-so, as shown. Wherever there is non-existence through other means, there this is the meaning of non-apprehension of self-nature. This shows that there are four kinds. If the three manifestations are also distinctions of non-apprehension, and what is associated with them is not counted among its own distinctions, then considering only the general case of non-apprehension, these four kinds are shown to be its. If so, will it become non-manifest non-apprehension? No, because if it contradicts, it is not its distinction, just as horses, swans, etc. are storks. Therefore, even if the appearance of things is not apprehended, this is a way of placing it close. If the non-apprehension of self-nature is understood as merely establishing terms, then even if other combinations included in this are shown here, it will become an analysis, because whether it is included in it as its own nature, close to what is to be proven? Or, whether it holds its nature, or it is, because what is to be proven is the same, so this should be analyzed, if there is doubt about being included, then even if it is shown to be included, everything shows the nature of what is to be proven and the prover. For it, the non-apprehension of self-nature is the object.
