If there is no other doubt, this reaches the end of what is called "the play of analysis." If so, then what needs to be distinguished regarding the sound of knowable objects that are not objects of other cognition? Because there is no knowable object that is not a fabrication of others. If asked in this way, then the answer is, "That is not so," which is called "speech about knowable objects, etc." Purely combining means expressing the meaning of the sound of knowable objects that abides in being the very object of other cognition. Therefore, there is no sound of knowable objects that is outside of terminology. When cognizing others themselves, using sound to universally reveal is spoken of in the realm of combining exclusion of others. If there is no intention to reveal, then sound is merely meaningless, because it is not inherently meaningful. This is explained by the end of what is called "sound combination." If, even without intention, meaning can be understood merely from words, is that not so? Therefore, if one intends to express, because it has meaning, and if there is no intention, it is meaningless. If one says this, then the answer is that if one intends to express, due to familiarity with the meaning, even if it is not so, understanding is merely approximate deception. This explanation reaches the end of "existence itself." Therefore, this is the conclusion. That is, regarding the things that must be determined, undoubtedly, in the manner of firmly establishing the tenet, how the meaning of the sound that approximates the display is, in order to explain the parts of the teacher's treatises that are inconsistent with the aspect of excluding others, therefore it is said, "what from where." The particle "ni" here transforms into the meaning of "because of what," that is, because of what, from what, and where the different things are, through negation, and established upon its difference. Showing that difference is also the similar essence of the various characteristics of trees, that is, the forms of shapa and other things that have become different from things that are not trees, are similar appearances, related to "difference." Because what is like that, therefore that very difference, is refuted by the teacher Dharmakirti, while others will understand some parts of that thing, which is also an excellent explanation. Moreover, the particle "also" is for summarizing the unsaid meaning, which will also be shown in the commentary. Here...

Saying "through other exclusions, one can understand some aspects of things" means understanding other exclusions that are different from things. But it also means that, in order to understand things, sound is attributed to things that possess the particularity of exclusions. Therefore, just as sound is attributed to things that possess universal particularity, sound is also attributed to things that possess the particularity of exclusions, and there is no difference. Saying "sound only expresses things that are distinguished by other things as exclusions," and so on, the meaning is the same. Furthermore, the author of Pramāṇavārttika says that following the understanding of exclusions is not other, which contradicts the exclusion of others that cuts off superimpositions, so the teacher said it that way. Because sound connects the mind with difference, it is said that difference itself can understand certain parts of things, but there is no other nature of things other than difference. If it is said that "understanding can be achieved through other exclusions," then, for the object to which sound is attributed, it is not that some particularity of other exclusions is transformed, but because it is necessary to determine "this is the tree, not the other," sound will return from some minds and be attributed to others. In this way, although it cannot be determined to return from non-trees, because this itself is the exclusion of other trees, when a tree different from non-trees is determined, through the power of sound combination, it will inevitably transform into the power of determination, that is, the power of determining non-trees as the exclusion of trees, which is merely the return from non-trees shown by the sound of trees. Therefore, this is a superior exclusion. Therefore, sound only expresses the ultimate meaning of exclusion, and does not express things with the particularity of exclusion, because exclusion is no different from things with exclusion. If so, then the "part" mentioned in "through other exclusions, one can understand some aspects of things" is the exclusion itself. Any other understanding of exclusions. Saying other exclusions means saying the nature of the tree that returns from non-trees, which is achieved through determination, the tree does not
