Because of the reason for holding. Therefore, the consciousness of sound abides in it, and will not change, because the spoken sound is eliminated from non-trees, therefore from that non-tree, therefore eliminated from something. For example, when saying "Only this is a tree," it is like the consciousness of a tree being eliminated from others. Because of knowing "Only this is, others are not." Similarly, when saying "This is only a tree," this is only a tree, not a non-tree, because it is extremely established on its own object, so it is eliminated from non-trees, therefore from it, the consciousness of non-trees is eliminated, and it enters into others. Here, there is no confusion about eliminating from other meanings, it is the Dharma nature of reality. Just like different kinds, because they are also different from the same kind, although there is no non-knowable, but because the nature of the knowable is different, so when saying "the knowable of a pot," because it is known to be different from the knowable of cloth. However, other debates, this is done only with the arrogance of wisdom, because it is not a transformation of the nature of reality, the knowable itself also depends on the non-reality to exist, therefore the teacher establishes the reasoning that "if reality is not eliminated, it will not arise." Because after establishing "Why is everything real by nature," the combination of sound will not exist if it is not definitely held, therefore other reasonings are also shown here, that is, distinguishing non-reality, because non-reality has not exceeded the expression of sound. Even if there is no difference, it is impossible to exceed because one must speak of difference. The combination of sound will not exist if it is not definitely held, where does this come from? The answer is: otherwise the combination will become meaningless. That is what it means. If the meaning is not definitely held, the combination of sound will become fruitless. The measure of the nature of merely appearing self-aspect, when knowing as it is, knows its own object, does not depend on the definite holding or determination of its own object, just like direct perception. Because by what is established, only by this is the necessity of combination accomplished, just like when the eyes and so on are fully equipped, they will not abandon seeking other fruits, sound is not like this to understand its own object. Thus, if sound
