It is called "one with a non-permissive result." Wherever these valid cognitions are not permitted, it should be said that there, the function of not seeing it arises. Therefore, because of not seeing, it is said "non-existent," which is pointed out in the place itself. Moreover, because being meaningful is being seen, if it is not seen, because existence is absent, it is said "non-existent." Because that is non-existent, therefore, not permitting that non-existent is the result of this, meaning that it is to establish non-permission. If it is permitted, then without a doubt, the arising of discrimination is irreversible. Because one wants the result to be established by meaning, so for the initiated action, without a doubt, the thought 'this is like this' will arise. Therefore, if the word 'permission' is said to refer to the function transformed from arising, even so, permission is prevented, and if it does not exist, the word 'non-arising' is also prevented. Permission is rooted in the doubt of being meaningful. Therefore, if permission is prevented, then just like from permission, that root word of discrimination will also be prevented. Therefore, the explanation of 'existing knowledge' and so on is given. The word 'name' refers to what arises from seeking meaning. If valid cognition does not exist, will existing knowledge and so on also be prevented? The answer is that those are because seeing is a prerequisite. Now, if it is said that even avoiding harm and so on will not be permitted? Therefore, it is said 'all valid cognitions,' because there, it can be seen from dung, and that is a valid cognition for this kind of meaning, and it is also not transformed from anything other than inference. If the Sutra says, 'for fire' it is merely stating the meaningless as the cause, how can it be said 'because seeing is a prerequisite'? The answer is, therefore, 'this' is said. In this way, this, which has the result of preventing existing knowledge and so on, is the same undifferentiated nature of the reasons for preventing and establishing existence and non-existence. The reasons for existing knowledge and so on, as mentioned before, are the reasons for establishing non-existing knowledge and so on.

The words will be explained. This is how it is said: The cause as it is said should be taken as the cause of combination, and the knowledge etc. as it is said should be shown as the fruit of cessation. This is not only limited to this, but also up to the point where it will be explained. When establishing this treatise, the non-existence shown as the cause, the root of the cause as it is said, is shown as "it is like this" etc. The object of focus exists, because from that object of focus arises the knowledge of existence, sound, and terms. The nature of the meaning of existence itself exists, but the object of focus does not, because the meaning and the object of focus are distinct, so they are not mutually existent. Although this is the case, it is said that the object of focus exists. Therefore, expressing one thing with the meaning of words for another is due to approximation. The approximation that abides in existence is also for things that do not appear, because for it, the thought arises that "it exists by the object of focus itself," and in order to conform to that understanding, terms are used. So, what is that object of focus? It is said to be the characteristic of things being capable. Or, it is the thing that is the nature of the object of consciousness. The thing that is the nature of the object of consciousness is not consciousness, because the things of cause and effect depend on being distinct. Therefore, this also shows the object of focus as the object with special characteristics through approximation. Therefore, the object of focus itself exists, and existence itself is the object of focus, so both are spoken through approximation. The so-called "the consciousness that depends on it arises" is the true meaning of the object of focus. Some say, "Because the action exists in the agent and the object, two objects of focus are shown," those statements are just fragments, not reasoning. Knowledge is not action, nor is it the dharma of things, nor does it come from the object, therefore, this is just changed by the defilement of other schools. Because the object of focus exists, the non-appearing thing does not exist, this will be established. What is said, "Whatever is like that also does not exist," refers to "the non-appearing thing." The non-appearing thing does not exist, and it is also the non-existence among non-existences. Therefore, here this meaning is
