Having explained by preceding the refutation of the argument "because it arises," now, by "because that is its own nature," the very nature of the reason of nature is explained, but in order to show what is to be proven, it is said, "merely the existence of nature." That nature, the thing that is its own essence, is the reason. That nature is also merely existent and related to following. It follows merely existence itself. If one asks what exists, it is understood that the very thing in question exists. Its meaning is this: whatever follows merely the existence of a thing, such a nature is the reason of the thing in its own essence. Because the thing is its own nature, its existence will not be without its own nature, for if it exists, it will undoubtedly have its nature, so it is certain that if the thing exists, the nature exists. If such a meaning is not determined by stating the relationship of nature itself, then since this itself is to be proven, what is the use of stating this? That is true, therefore it is said, "the reason of its own nature." Because this relationship of nature is reasonable for such a thing, it is appropriate to prove it itself, that is its meaning. If that is the case, then for what purpose is this arranged? It is said, "it is not dependent on others." In this way, all ways should be understood, and just as saying that it becomes understandable and the understander, by showing the nature of cause and effect, is excluded, similarly, by showing its own nature, the statement of the understander who contradicts it is prevented. Therefore, those who, because they depend on others, even though empty, have an essence, although their own nature is not established, but are said to be understanders, those should be excluded in this way, just as those who say that destruction has a cause do. Impermanence itself, if it arises later, even if it exists, will not become its own nature. Therefore, because it is not its own nature, this is not to be proven by being made. Therefore, if it depends on others, it will not have its own nature, therefore it will not become a reason.

If so, then the basis of the self-nature relationship should be established. Saying this does not mean that what is made from its own nature can be understood, therefore, if one doubts that it should be refuted how it is to establish this by its very non-existence, in order to show that if the very act exists, then this non-existence cannot be understood, so it is said, "If it exists, it has not become existent." If the very act and so on exists, then what is the nature that is considered to be understandable, because it depends on others, so for the later arising that has not become existent, there is no certainty. Because if that exists, that will inevitably exist, so the reason is to determine what is to be established. If when the reason exists but has not become existent, then, what must this rely on to become a later arising? That is, it temporarily exists in the absence of it, just like at that time. Therefore, that also exists, but later it does not appear as before, so this is completely uncertain. If one says, then is becoming existent also not refuted? Although not, but if there is no certainty, then the subsequent inference will not arise, so it will become hesitation. In addition, because what this depends on to become existent, existence does not arise from that itself, so how can it be said that it will become existent later? This is what is said, "Causes and so on are delusions about the result." Causes and so on are delusions about the result. Even if there is no result, it will arise, but it is not inevitable, this is its summary. Now, because the relationship is not recognized, so in order to show that the non-apprehension that is not different from the self-nature reason is the self-nature statement preceding what is to be established, so it is said, "Valid cognitions and so on." Non-apprehension is the non-application of direct perception, inference, and scriptural valid cognition. The difference between this and the self-nature reason of this is that the difference of the reason is distinguished by the word "is". Not established The non-apprehension recognized only by the non-establishment of valid cognition is non-apprehension, this is what is said in the commentary. Because valid cognition itself is visible, so its opposite is non-apprehension. After showing its own nature, what is to be established is explained: absent.
